“The hero is the one who goes beyond his ability to improve his skills, until he becomes able to improve, and perhaps even alter, the skills of others.” — Dr. Muhammad ‘Abd Al-Rahaman Al-‘Arifi
I often get asked why I love teaching so much. And my response is always, why would I not? Surely the greatest gift you can give is to teach others what you’ve learnt and mastered yourself? To spread the knowledge and experience you’ve gained with others following in the same footsteps as you is so important, and something everyone should do to some level. From a young age we look up to our teachers and are inspired by them, and I actually wanted to become a teacher before I ever considered being a doctor. (As a kid I used to role play teaching and have the other kids sit cross-legged as my class #sorrynotsorry
😂). And when I realised that I also want to become a doctor, I decided to become both.
But it’s not just about teaching. It’s about learning too. It keeps you humbled. It constantly reminds you of how hard you’ve worked and how far you’ve come. Like I always say, teaching is a privilege and should always be treated as such!
So keep grinding guys! And aim to learn something new, something challenging, every day 🌟
