London | my old dutch | Seafood + banana n nuts
I wont say this is the best pancake in town but come on its such a GOOD deal! Their pancakes are only £5.95 every monday (except bank holidays)
Look at the size they are as big as a PIZZA!!!
Personally i like their sweet pancakes over savoury but savoury is of better value and both are worth a try!!!
London : Fish kari with roti (£7.95) 👍 @ Gopal’s Corner by Roti King, Victoria Market Hall, SW1E 5NE
Have you been to the newly opened Market Hall at Victoria? I think I’m most excited about this stall by Roti King (and a new Koya!). Haven’t had a chance to visit Roti King, but this curry and roti didn’t disappoint. Fluffy yet crispy with perfect layers! The curry was a little sour (because of the tomatoes) compared to the sweet and “westernised” coconut milk curries. It packed great flavours and perfect to dip the roti in. However I do think the fish was a little fishy so perhaps I will go for other meats next time. @markethalls @gopalscorner

I had the pleasure of attending one of my favourite restaurants in London @temperlondon.
There is not many establishments that provide you outstanding food, service and overall experience. It’s clear that every member of staff has a passion for what Temper stands for. The best seats in the house are the bar stools around the main kitchen area. Sat here you can see the chef expertly prepare all the food. I highly recommend @temperlondon
trust me you will not be disappointed! @adwaiz
In a few of my previous posts I spoke about going for dinner again to @lewtrenchardmanor
. Once again they impressed all of us! This place has to be my favourite to eat at locally. 🏚️ -
The food and service you get her is just amazing. The place it self is a massive old manor house that has a huge amount of interesting history about it. It's even listed in the doomsday book! Once you have been welcomed and you have a drink in hand from their extensive wine list, you are presented with nibbles and canapés, all of which were delicious and got your taste buds warmed up for the food ahead. 🍷🍾 -
Next we got a pre starter of a white onion veloute topped with a thyme foam. This is something I am trying very soon as it blew my mind how something so simple can be so satisfying.
We were then presented with some fresh focaccia bread, which is possibly the best I have ever had. I managed to replicate it fairly well so check out my previous post if your interested to see the outcome. 🍞🥖🍷 -
For starter I went for the pigeon, however I didn't manage to photograph it because I ate it so quickly, but I can assure you it was delicious! The picture above is of my main course. I had partridge breast, (can you see the theme of game here?) It was accompanied by different textures of potato and black pudding. Again if you follow me you will know my love for black pudding, hence why I swayed towards this dish. 🍗🍽️😋 -
This partridge it self was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. The black pudding elements included a kind of crumb that topped the breast, which was a welcome change in texture. Also there was a croquette and a puree, both very different and very enticing, the puree especially grabbed my attention because of its bold flavour. This dish was also garnished with small onions which I think we're pickled slightly and added a great zing that broke this dish up nicely. 🌰🦆 -
All in all a great experience, I shall showcase another main course from here and my phenomenal dessert too very soon! Keep an eye out. 👀😃
Whilst on a business trip in Birmingham I asked for a restaurant recommendation. My friends know I like my food so they suggested somewhere they thought appropriate! @bank_birmingham
is perfectly located right in the heart of town and a stones throw from the ICC. It’s a stunning restaurant with a classy feel. We were escorted to the back of the restaurant - which felt like being outside but inside. To start I had the scallops, served with chorizo and a tomato salsa. Very generous portion with great flavour dynamic. For main I opted for the fillet steak. Served with a circular hash brown, spinach and a pepper sauce. All in all a lovely meal in a beautiful setting. Perfect for a date, a romantic night or even a business dinner!

So who woulda thunk that a restaurant named after an amused cephalopod 🦑 (yes I looked it up) would be such a roaring success. I always wonder what he (she? it? THEY?) are finding so darned amusing 🤔 A fleet of seahorses with tickly seaweed? A sea cucumber with a penchant for stand up (tricky when you’re a slug) or it is just all the legs 🦵🦵🦵🦵🦵🦵🦵🦵 Cos I know I find my own body a source of comedy on a regular occasion 😆😆🥺.
I popped along to Marlow’s recently refreshed Giggling Squid last night for taste of their festive menu and it was CANAPETASTIC. Sadly I didn’t take many pics as I needed all my hands to juggle a glass of Prosecco and snatch the deliciousness from circulating trays. I considered tripping a waiter. There, I said it🙊.
So there are now 30 @gigglingsquid
’s in the stable but that’s where the chain resemblance ends. It’s a group of restaurants with the same top quality food, a stunning aesthetic that’s becoming instantly recognisable and populated by the most authentic Thai chefs and staff that it takes me back to THAT uni trip to Chiang Rai. Without the dodgy Bintang T-shirt and Jamiroquai soundtrack 🤣.
Fresh zingy flavours, kaffir lime, betel leaf, mint, garlic, chilli and my absolute favourite fish sauce 🤤🤤🤤🤤 One of the best cuisines in the world, delivered with personality, all the way down to the stories and recommendations in the menu. We left with a plan to come back for dinner.
And as it seems I still remember how to count to ten in Thai... I give it sìp/sìp (10/10) #InsiderAppetite
🇬🇧 Whether you’re a matcha lover or not, this is a hidden gem for stress relief hideaway - instead of chatting, customers are encouraged to relax in order to experience the calm ambience of the tea house. ❗️It is reminded by the tea house that customers should read the rules sheet on their website prior to going there. From now on, the tea house is reservation only and no walk-ins are allowed.

Cha Chaan Teng (茶餐廳) is known for their Hong Kong & Hong Kong style Western cuisine. And my favourite fusion dish has got to be this HK style French toast 😋 .

What is your favourite PopTart Flavour?
Can't take my eye off the Beasties.
Whilst out cold with a migraine yesterday kids created a fry up with Mr. Litemunch.
This bottle of @adnams
tomato ketchup was only opened yesterday and this is what's left of it. 😲
They did however admit that out of 3 UK contenders the 2 closest (see 1 above) are the best.
What can I say, if the Beasties prefer these over multinationals I shall forgive them.
