My name is Julie Ta and I serve as the Community Director for Chesapeake Hall.
Although raised in Boston, MA, I moved to South Philadelphia as a young teen and considered myself a Philadelphian! I earned my B.A. in Applied Psychology from Penn State University in 2014, and my M.Ed in Higher Education with a concentration in Student Affair Leadership and a certificate in College Access and Success from Temple University in 2016.
I am a firm believer in the power of education beyond the classroom. At UMBC, I work with my wonderful student staff on Chesapeake’s community engagement, crisis response, and behavioral management. .
Outside of work, I love traveling and attending concerts. If you ever want to discuss hip-hop music and break down some lyrics analysis, please feel free to stop on by Chesapeake Hall! .
