Love me a good Schoolhouse/House quilt, from the very classic and traditional to the quirky or unconventional ones. To me this one sits in both traditions. I’ve always seen this as “Schoolhouse in a snow storm” ( to all of you experiencing snow storms this weekend) albeit very colorful snow. Her colors and fabric choices are clearly planned. The “snowflakes” look like burrs. Love she choice of the sashing fabric.
This quilt was deaccessioned in 2004 by the IQSCM from the Ardis & Robert James collection. Was happy to be the highest bidder.
You always seem to appear at the worst time, but it’s always the right time. Thank you for your wisdom, creativity, listening, and intent @shellyrollisonmusic. Here’s to our books coming out this year.
