Last weekend I went to Normandy with 160 people that I didn’t know. It was awesome. My new friends were touring Mont Saint Michel as if they were it’s next potential homeowners, while actually dodging 40€ omelettes (we hope they come from the Golden Goose at that price). Apparently quicksand really does exist out in the bay around the island, but instead of being terrified of getting slurped up by the ground we were thinking “move over, I want to see!” Pro tip: you can’t see anything. We learned the abbey was built because St Michael the Archangel wanted one and bothered some monk in his dreams until eventually he poked a hole in the guy’s head so he’d remember. At that, my friend leaned over to me and asked if St. Michael was the patron saint of swiss cheese. We actually found out he judges our souls on our way to Heaven, so we should probably stop making fun of him and go build another abbey with his name on it.
New adventure this weekend!
"This city is so vibrant and diverse! There is always something on at Federation Square; there are so many festivals year-round (especially food ones), bars with music, museums, incredible graffiti art all over the city – I fell in love with it immediately. My favourite discoveries are definitely the musicians and street performers in the CBD." Kamola Khushvaktova, an MBS student from Uzbekistan
What are some of your favourite discoveries about Melbourne?
So excited to be one of the three Student Leaders for the 2018 Graduate Student Learning Hub, Faculty of Education, Monash University!
The faculty really helps new students overcome their worries during their academic transition. Will definitely learn tons of things from the convenors (Dr. @katrina_tour and Dr. Philip Chan) 😊
Glad to assist @arif_elhakim and Irene for this initiative. And of course heaps of thanks for bro @dayatyunus and mba Ana for your dedication in this program. Please guide us. 🙏🙏 Pics by: Mba Ana Stnk.
