I fell in love with this spot. 😍 After rounding the corner through red rocks you are suddenly faced with this beautiful tree filled valley. A stop off at the coffeehouse gives you a porch from which to take all of this in. October was an awesome time to visit.
Lots of ideas coming for the website, stay tuned 👀 (link in bio)
Feeling those golden vibes!
Life is made up, not of great sacrifices or duties, but of little things, in which smiles and kindness, and small obligations given habitually, are what preserve the heart and secure comfort. Canyonlands is a tricky spot to shoot. It’s difficult to capture the scale of this place. This is a bit of lens trickery- a telephoto lens will compress the background to make it appear dramatically closer to @gregtallica. Photos hardly do it justice, it’s a place you have to experience for yourself.⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ Sony a7 - 70-200 f/4 .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ #utahunique #utahisrad #youtah #utahillustrated #utahisbeautiful #depthsofearth #utahunlocked #plametdiscovery #visualsofearth #roamnation #naturalutah #desertvibes
Misty rain creates 3 waterfalls in Ivins, Utah. NOTES FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS: When it is raining or snowing, grab your camera and head outside. Inclement weather is a great opportunity to capture moody, unique images. #wowutah #seeutah #visitutah #utahlove #youtah #onlyinutah #utahisrad #utahisawesome #utahisamazing #utahgram #exploreutah #xputah #instautah #igutah #werutah #utahunique #pictureline #ksltv #kslweather #utahisbeautiful #iloveutah #utahrocks #beutahful #beautahful #utahlandscape #utahlandscapes #experienceutah #utahexperience #utahtravels #utahillustrated
"Shooting" flying birds is WAY more difficult than setting up a tripod and "Pressing the Trigger" on a remote...😃... So many variables... PLUS, your game is over, GONE in an insta!! Sure is FUN trying though! Stoked my game seem to like me & come back for more. Makes practice time easy...😜 . Huge admiration & respect for the pro wildlife photographers out there & thanks for sharing your inspiring work..🖖 . . . #urbanwildlife #best_birds_of_ig #bird_watchers_daily #nikonwildlife #wildlife #utah #utahgram #wildlifephotography #birding #birdphotography #waterfowl #wildlife_perfection #ducksofinstagram #birdcaptures #wildlife_vision #natgeowild #wildlifeplanet #naturelovers #naturepics #xputah #utahillustrated #utahlife #wildlife_inspired #utahwildlife #bird_brilliance
As far as I can tell, I may be the only person to carry a DLSR, heavy lens and a tripod into this beautiful canyon in central Utah. If feels nice to have a photo of a place that has never been shot before. I am grateful for unexplored places and the ability to share them with all of you. :)
Just a reminder to do your own part to keep nature clean, particularly if you're going to a national park during the shutdown. More scenes from last summer. -Persistence is critical to results- : This hike was a little challenging because it required some climbing, which I am not very familiar with, but I knew the climb would be worth it! : I really enjoy getting different perspectives of arches, how do you guys get a different perspective?! : : : #LiveYourAdventure #ourcamplife #earth_reflect #depthsofearth #EliteKlub #westbysouthwest #Hikrlife #earth_shotz #MTNfolk #ContentWithLess #igutah #utahisrad #utahillustrated #utahgram #xputahp #werutah #utahstoke #utahunique #VisualAmbassadors #wildernessnation #pictureline #sonyalpha #sonyimages #edgygrams #ig_underdogz #HikeVibes
By no means am I a wildlife photographer. Full disclosure, these were taken at our local aquarium. Regardless, trying to photograph an animal changes the way you look at photography. It's nice to be able to practice in a more controlled environment like this, and it builds a lot of respect for people who do this not only in the wild, but more consistently. Trying to take pictures of moving subjects really changes the game, especially when you are used to landscape stuff where things don't move (at least not near as quickly).⠀ .⠀ People like @kyledropik take amazing photos of animals in the wild, and I am so impressed with what they can do. I'd encourage taking time to push yourself by photographing things that aren't quite the same as your norm.
There I spot a red roof (as a Michigander I pronounce that "ruff" like a dog!) 😋 My Utah journey continues, with a little Great Lakes flavor. 😂
@davidwhittenphotography Moab Petroglyphs are images created by removing part of a rock surface by incising, picking, carving, or abrading, as a form of rock art. Outside North America, scholars often use terms such as "carving", "engraving", or other descriptions of the technique to refer to such images. Petroglyphs are found worldwide, and are often associated with prehistoric peoples. The word comes from the Greek prefix petro-, from πέτρα petra meaning "stone", and γλύφω glýphō meaning "to carve", and was originally coined in French as pétroglyphe. The term petroglyph should not be confused with petrograph, which is an image drawn or painted on a rock face. Both types of image belong to the wider and more general category of rock art or parietal art. Petroforms, or patterns and shapes made by many large rocks and boulders over the ground, are also quite different. Inuksuit are also unique, and found only in the Arctic (except for reproductions and imitations built in more southerly latitudes). https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petroglyph #moab #petroglyph #wilderness #highdesert #archaeolgy #geologyrocks
Sometimes a photo just can't do a place Justice. After a long drive along a ridge climbing and climbing a mountain, you come to the spot where you're feeling like you're on top of the world looking down at these odd looking mountains in the distance. This was taken from a high elevation. The ledge in front of me goes to quite a drop off. Highway 12 in Utah is so varied and so unique in scope, it should be on your itinerary!

- The Confluence - One of my favorite outings last year was backpacking through one of longest slot canyons in the world.
A few years ago I met up with a new friend @mnelso24 and we headed out to the Bonneville Salt Flats. This was my first time doing steel wool shots and I think it went quite well. I especially liked hearing the red hot steel wool fall onto the moist salt bed and sizzle out. . . . . #bonnevillesaltflats #saltflats #steelwool #longexposure #longexposures #longexposureshots #longexposure_world #werutah #utahillustrated #pictureline #utahphotographer #adventuregram #dream_spots #exploreutah #experienceutah #getoutstayout #getoutandshoot #stayandwander #justgoshoot #abstractphotography #abstractphoto #utah

I taught my daughter how to climb a mountain, but not how to do her hair. I suck at hair, but I’m good at climbing mountains. I feel hiking is a confidence building activity. Not just for kids, but for us adults as well. I feel empowered as an individual when I conquer a mountain. I feel strong and brave. Maybe a little full of myself too 😉🥾😂Sometimes it’s necessary to celebrate yourself. Especially since for the most part we are hard on ourselves. So, climb that peak and celebrate your bad self. All of our egos need a little pat on the back sometimes #utahpeakbaggers #uintas #highuintas #baldmountaintrail #baldmountain #goatworthy #chaseyourgoat
Since I am on a Uinta kick I might as well finish up the week w uintagrams. The todddler isn’t feeling well and there is no real hope right now of us getting outside. I’ll just pour over my summer memories in the meantime. Here is my teenager on #baldmountain I hiked the toddler up here as well a separate time. It was nice to just go with my daughter this time. It made it a leisurely stroll without my insane pack on my back. #uintas #highuintas #chaseyourgoat #optoutside
I cannot recommend the drive down Highway 12, east of Bryce Canyon, nearly enough. The mix of terrain is incredible. After leaving the orange hoodoos, I'm met by the most curious red and white layered rock mountains. Oh, it gets better! 😁 Stick with me on this journey.

I Feel the Ice Move Man, it's exciting to hear the gunshot sounds of ice cracking beneath your feet. Yikes! It's a good thing I was only inches from shore. :) What a fun night, running into like-minded crazy photographers along the shore of Deer Creek tonight, checking out the shifting ice. She is powerful, our beautiful Mother Nature.

@philpogledich Grand Staircase Escalante Grand Staircase-Escalante spans many acres of America's public lands and contains three distinct units, Grand Staircase, Kaiparowits, and Escalante Canyon. The Monument was the last place in the continental United States to be mapped. From its spectacular Grand Staircase of cliffs and terraces, across the rugged Kaiparowits Plateau, to the wonders of the Escalante River Canyons, the Monument is a diverse geologic treasure speckled with monoliths, slot canyons, natural bridges, and arches. The Monument is an outstanding biological resource, spanning five life-zones - from low-lying desert to coniferous forest. Deep within this vast and austere landscape, the Anasazi and Fremont cultures made contact in the period AD 950-1100, leaving behind rock art panels, occupation sites, campsites and granaries. Stepping further back in time, fossil excavations have yielded more information about ecosystem change at the end of the dinosaur era than any other place in the world.  The Monument’s size, resources, and remote character provide extraordinary opportunities for geologists, paleontologists, archeologists, historians, and biologists in scientific research, education, and exploration. This unspoiled natural area remains a frontier with countless opportunities for quiet recreation and solitude. https://www.blm.gov/programs/national-conservation-lands/utah/grand-staircase-escalante-national-monument #youtah #westbysouthwest #wildernessnation #placestovisit #protecourparks #utahgram #utahphotography #longexposhots #geologyrocks #waterscape #highdesert #nationalmonument #ig_bestshotz #worldcapture #naturephotography #natureseekers #redrocks #protectpubliclands #goparks #grandstaircase #utahillustrated
Do you see the bear?⠀ .⠀ This isn't Abraham Lake in Alberta, Canada. But, it is a sight I never thought I would see in person unless I went there. Especially not here in Utah.⠀ .⠀ Methane bubbles are an incredible site to see. And, I do plan to still go see them up in Canada at some point. But this, this will satisfy my curiosity for a little bit.
