Ana began having abnormal pap tests with her first pregnancy at 27. She was later diagnosed with Stage 2 Cervical Adenocarcinoma in December 2015. “I underwent laproscopic surgery to remove my fallopian tubes, and relocate my ovaries out of the field of radiation. I did 28 rounds of external radiation, six rounds of chemo, and three rounds of internal radiation.” The single mum of two was then found to have residual cancer and had a radical hysterectomy in October 2016. The surgeon removed her ovaries, uterus and cervix. Unfortunately, Ana's cancer journey was not yet over. .
In our well-packed blog this week, “the lady or the tiger: overcoming scanxiety” (link in bio), Ana shares her incredible journey and her tips on how to cope with the stress of scans, biopsies and cancer recurrence – especially during the holiday season. This brave beauty is currently awaiting her next biopsy on December 19th.
“I have decided that after going in for the biopsy on the 19th, I will ask my oncologist to hold on to the results until the 26th. This way I can limit my worrying and waiting, knowing that no results will come until the 26th, and I can enjoy Christmas with my family and friends.”
Thank you Ana for reaching out to share your story and insights so that other women can find hope and strength on their journey - please join me in sending Ana some love for her upcoming appointment. 💛
Ladies do you take a peek at your vagina also known as Vaginal Self Exam?
If yes, why do you?
If no, why don't you?
A self-exam isn’t as in-depth as a pelvic exam performed by your gynecologist. You should still have routine pelvic exams. These check for ovarian cysts, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), uterine fibroids, early-stage cancer, and other signs of health problems.
But a self-exam may help you find signs of an STD or changes to your vulva (the outer part of your genitals) that could signal other health problems. Spots, sores, or bumps could be early signs of vulvar cancer and should be checked by your doctor. A more involved self-exam could also help you detect changes to your vaginal wall and possibly your cervix.
How Do I Do a Vaginal Self-Exam?
You can do it any time, but it’s best when you’re in between periods. Don’t use any vaginal creams or douches for at least 24 hours before doing the exam.
Here are some things that you can use that will help:
A hand-held mirror
A flashlight or other small light
A detailed diagram of the genitals with all the parts labeled (so you'll know what you’re looking at)
Pillows and a towel
Make sure your hands are clean or that you’re wearing sterile gloves. Be mindful of your fingernails.
Remove your clothes from the waist down. Sit on your bed or on a towel on the floor against a wall with your back propped up by pillows. Pull your feet toward your butt and spread your legs.
Relax your pelvic muscles. Then examine the parts of the vulva: the clitoris, and the outer and inner labia. Take note of the color and size of each part, so if anything changes you’ll notice it easily. You may need to pull back slightly on the hood of the clitoris. You might also have to spread apart your pubic hair to get a clear view of the area.

Chrissy Teigen reminds us not to be so hard on ourselves after childbirth. “I had everything I needed to be happy. And yet, for much of the last year, I felt unhappy. What basically everyone around me—but me—knew up until December was this: I have postpartum depression. How can I feel this way when everything is so great? I’ve had a hard time coming to terms with that, and I hesitated to even talk about this, as everything becomes such a “thing.” During pregnancy, what I thought were casual comments about IVF turned into headlines about me choosing the sex of my daughter. And I can already envision what will be said about me after this admission. But it’s such a major part of my life and so, so many other women’s lives.” #pregnancy #fertility #postpartum #childbirth #vaginalhealth #womenempowerment #womenmatter #womancrush #strongwoman #magicwoman #chrissyteigen #motherhood
Let’s talk about menstural health 🌸⭐️.
First most question that we usually get is can I workout during my periods or will it affect my flow or not?.
🌸 no it has no effect on your flow and you can totally workout in your periods.
🌸 working out or non working out totally depends on your comfort level and your choice.
🌸 moreover working out release ENDORPHINS happy hormones in periods it can help you with reducing bloating and other pms symptoms as well.
🌸 if you don’t feel like going for strength training or heavy activity you can go for leisure walk just to get some movement in.
🌸 other than that hygiene plays an important role as well. 🌸 try to keep it as clean as you can wipe from start till back.
🌸 avoid douching in vaginal area as it’s meant to clean itself douching will cause more effect on health.
🌸 if you get extremely irritated skin during periods try to change the brand which you are using try to opt for more natural and soft and don’t go for more than 6 hours applying.

Women at any age can contract Bacterial Vaginosis or “BV” - it’s more common among women who have sex with multiple partners. BV is caused by changes in the amount of certain types of bacteria in your vagina, it can develop when your vagina has more harmful bacteria than good bacteria.
BV symptoms include a fishy & grayish colored discharge, itchiness, painful sex & many more. 👆🏼 These symptoms may be similar to vaginal yeast infections & other gynecologic problems. It’s usually diagnosed with a sample of vaginal discharge & treated with antibiotics. It’s important to discuss any of your concerns or questions with your provider.

Menopause and Aging can affect the vagina in many ways including:
-Vaginal tissues become thin, dry, and less elastic Fragile, dry, inflamed vaginal tissues may tear and bleed.
-Vaginal secretions decrease with reduced lubrication. Vaginal infections increase (as the healthy acidic vaginal pH increases).
-Women with menopause induced by cancer treatments may have additional injury to the vaginal tissues from chemotherapy or pelvic radiation.
-Women often engage in less frequent sexual activity (due to pain) which can cause the vagina to become shorter, narrower, and less elastic.
RepaGyn® solves these pain points above.

I'm excited I grabbed this last little harvest of Violet leaves to make my breast rub and Yoni lube! I'll slowly infuse this magical plant to put her sweet medicine into coconut oil. I use shiva stone( "This stone holds within it the feeling of unity and duality.
On one hand you see the masculine part of the stone within its phallic shape, and the feminine as well in the egg shape, and in the beauty of the markings on the stones.
The stone as a whole recognizes that they are one, yet they are each a separate entity within the one. Its vibration has a different action depending on where you place it" .) in the water the jars take a warm bath in as well as Rose Quartz for the love frequency for healing! It's become a go to because who doesn't need more #love

Only a few more weeks left to 2018! What are your goals for health for the new year? What pelvic health information do you want to see from us?
Welcome to my Women’s Health IGTV where you’ll find information on women’s gynecologic, obstetric, and fitness health!
In today’s video I discuss #bacteriavaginosis
(BV), how you can prevent this common infection, and maintain a healthy vaginal environment.
per many requests, here are all of my vaginal care tips 🌸 feel free to share some of your tips in the comments as well💕
1. Cleanse yourself from the inside out. Drinking a few cups of pineapple juice while feasting on hella cows & milkshakes is not going to magically make ur vagina smell/ taste better. A healthy *lifestyle* of clean eating, hydration, & detoxing through sweating/exercise will help you. What you put in your body is literally square one lol
2. Do not put soaps/harsh chemicals in general inside your vagina. Summer’s Eve is a whole entire mess. Your vagina is self cleaning, all you need is warm water and your hand to get in your inner crevices. Also never expect your vagina to taste or smell sweet. Everybody has their own unique smell and taste but ya pussy should not be strawberry scented😭
3. When it comes to caring for the outer skin of your vagina, black soap is my favorite. Please don’t forget to moisturize the area no matter how much hair you got. Just don’t use perfumey lotions and shit. Shea butter is my fav daily moisturizer. If u got a dick appointment, use a natural oil (jojoba oil is my shit) and add like *one* drop of lavender essential oil to moisturize the outer skin. Bc shea butter just smells like wax lmfao
4. Plenty of studies show that removing all of your pubic hair can present many health hazards so maybe get a bikini wax instead of a Brazilian wax lol
5. Stay away from fuck boys
6. Yoni eggs are my shit, I made a post on Oct. 3rd (it’s a vid of me in a flannel& red lingerie) breaking down what they are, how to use them & where to get them from
7. Yoni steaming is also my shit but don’t over do it and u won’t have any problems lol. You should never steam more often than once every 3 months, ESPECIALLY if you don’t really struggle with infections, intense mensuration, etc. @earthmamamedicine
has a gr8 video on her YouTube channel explaining everything you need to know about steaming properly.
8. Letting the sun shine in your vag is a truly wonderful spiritual experience. I’ll usually do this for 10-15 minutes at a time. Just don’t fuck around and get a sunburn especially if you are melanin deficient lmao
When you ask the question....can you just tell me how to fix my period please? Consider this.

The sleepless nights some of my clients give me because I care that much.
The paper work and phone calls talking with women who then tell me it's too expensive for them right now or they want to carry on to do their own research because I won't give them the answers for free.
I would have pulled both my arms off to work with me when I was going through my story. I know how shit it can be but I also know my worth.
