As most know by now, I’ve always lived a plant-based & vegan lifestyle. I’m blessed in that aspect that I never had to deal with the cruelty that is the current everyday norm. But for years I’ve always gone through my struggles and phases, periods of loneliness and anger. Being an entrepreneur since I was 18 years old, it can take a toll on relationships, social interaction, compassion. To this day I would much rather help an animal than a human, sad but true. But I’m trying to do better. As I grow I want to continue to help as many people as I can, be it fitness, health, nutrition, or just someone to talk to. ——————————————————
So this is for everyone out there that needs something positive in their life, we’ve all been there. If you want to chat or talk about something… hit me up!
Taco rice is probably my go to meal whenever I’m just too lazy to cook🌮 I always cook a few servings of rice at the beginning of the week to whip together meals when I need, super convenient! Today I topped it with some corn, beans, pico, onion, lettuce, @beyondmeat
sour cream, and cilantro. Added some hot sauce after the picture😋🌶

Mi desayuno favorito! Tostada con aguacate y hummus de remolacha ❤️ - avocado toast + beetroot hummus
Kabocha squash - the most underrated squash! Sweeter than butternut squash and absolutely delicious. I threw together a kabocha squash soup this week and while the measurements are rough (I didn’t write them down), it was SO good I had to share!
KABOCHA SQUASH SOUP
*1 medium kabocha squash (about 2.5 pounds) *1.5 TBSP olive oil + more for roasting squash
*2 large leeks, cleaned and diced
*6 cloves garlic, diced *2-inch ginger piece, minced or grated
*2-inch fresh turmeric piece, minced or grated
*1 teaspoon ground cumin
*4 cups vegetable broth
*2 teaspoons kosher salt + more to taste
*1 14-ounce can full-fat coconut milk *fresh lime juice ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
1. Preheat the oven to 400 F.
2. Use a large, heavy knife or cleaver to cut the squash in half (you may need to microwave it for 2-3 minutes to soften). Remove seeds and cut each half into 3 large wedges. Toss with olive oil, salt and pepper to taste. Place wedges on a foil-lined baking sheet and roast for 30-40 minutes or until fork tender and browned in some spots. Once cool a bit, remove the squash skin.
3. Heat the 1 1/2 TBSP olive oil in a large saucepan or Dutch oven over medium-low heat. Once hot, add the leeks, garlic, ginger and turmeric and cook for just a few minutes until softened. Add the cumin and toss to cat.
4. Pour in the vegetable broth, cooked and peeled kabocha squash, and 2 teaspoons kosher salt. Raise the heat and bring the soup to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 10-12 minutes.
5. Add the coconut milk and lime juice and stir to combine. Transfer the soup to a @vitamix
in batches and blend until smooth.

When it's getting chillier outside to run but you're still desperately hanging onto summer like....
Considering I was born in the seasonally chilly foothills of Canada’s Rocky Mountains and then raised in an Ontario snowbelt and then went away to school to study earth sciences, or, more specifically, geology and mineral engineering, you know, outdoorsy stuff, it's kind of ridiculous that I grew up to become a complete and total baby when it comes to being cold.
do you ever think about the footprint you’re leaving on this planet?! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
by that i mean your carbon footprint, recycling when you can, consuming less animal cruelty products? because if this is something you know you can improve on, you have the power to change that. you have the power to create a greener and safer planet for the future. but, that can only happen if we ALL do our part and help where we can.

Happy Wednesday 🦋
🌱🐥💕 Gracias a mis veganas favoritas @om_twiins
pude volver a encontrar esa motivación que perdí entre universidad, trabajo y demás cosas, de verdad gracias chicas, las quiero. 💕💕

My please-don’t-talk-to-me-look-at-me-anything-at-me gym outfit 🖤 My go-to when I just want to get in and boss my workout and get home 🤣 What’s your favourite gym outfit? Tag below! I need some inspiration! 💕
Guys, you can’t imagine how much I worked on my arms in the past months. My arms belong to my weaker and less developed muscle groups because I didn’t really train them for about 3 years. I know, it was super stupid. When I focused on powerlifting for about 3 years arms weren’t my priory, as powerlifters need other muscle groups more. -
Well, a strong triceps helps you to benchpress more, but since I started training I had lots of issues with my triceps. Training triceps made my smaller blood vessels burst and I got massive bruises on my triceps (well, it still happens but not that bad any more). Also, many triceps exercises don’t agree with my elbows and cause pain. That’s why I didn’t train triceps as much as I should have had. For this reason I had to catch up with it now, as I started competing in bodybuilding. Bodybuilding is about creating a well balanced physique and arms are a big part of it. -
Today I was running late with my workout and had to skip the arm exercises. I was pretty disappointed about it, as I know that I really need to train arms. When I was leaving the gym I looked quickly into the mirror and saw my arms popping. It made me so happy! 😄 Even though I didn’t train arms and they weren’t pumped up, I could see so much more size compared to previous months. -
It’s about putting work in for a long time. One workout doesn’t determine about success. It’s about being consistent and doing as much as possible for a long time. 💪🏼 Be patient, work hard and don’t get discouraged if some days aren’t as good as others. Just keep going! This is what gives you the results you want 💪🏼❤️🌱
It’s only Wednesday and I need a lie down 😅

Photo on the left June ‘17 115lbs photo on the right September ‘18 109-110lbs - Lots of food, more knowledge and experience with glute training & well rounded (pun intended😂) training program 💪🏻
I feel that a lot of females do not reach their goals of building lean muscle due to fear of food. LADIES YA GOTTA EAT TO GROW 💪🏻 Do not fear food, its fuel its not to be feared but to be enjoyed ✨I always say this buttt - remember the more lean tissue you have on your body the more calories you burn at rest! Aka doing nothing! This means more doughnuts for me 😂💁🏻♀️ So feed the booty and get them gains ladies its a process but its worth it! 💕
Building strong glutes is not only an aesthetic goal - Strong glutes help prevent injury, aid in power style training (plyos, sprinting ect.) helps with lower back pain, aids in stability for everyday activities as well as in your training. All resistance training increases your bone density also so glute training is functional training and can carry over to many other aeras of your life - not to mention the confidence boost amiritee?! 🍑💪🏻✨
