It’s been a while since I uploaded some workout videos! This was last Saturday’s cardio + abs workout. I did a 30 minute jog on a treadmill before doing these exercises for 3 rounds:

Not the kind of rainbow food I usually promote (whole-foods like tomatoes, oats, kale, spinach, carrots, sweet potato & so many colorful nutritious foods) but it’s nice to have this kind of rainbow occasionally for the sake of psychological health to avoid any unnecessary restriction behaviour possibly leading to eating disorders.
One of the biggest mistakes a person looking to lose weight makes is restricting food groups & categorising « good vs bad » associating a food choice with his/her own character meaning if you choose a « bad » food you think of yourself as a « bad » person & vice-versa ... that my friends is a recipe for disaster for the long-term & believe it when it comes from a person who dealt with serious binging previously
Otherwise it was a great donut which I divided into 2-3 days just cause I would enjoy it more this way

At the time the photo on the left was taken, I was in the middle of bum-fuck nowhere Nevada for my first year at a massive country festival.🐮🤠⭐️ The Jack was flowing, the music was blasting, and later that night, I was dancing on stage with Jake Owen. 🥃🎵💃🏻
I mean, yes - I was happy. I was having fun and enjoying myself. How could I not? Literally one of the best times of my life. 🙌🏼 But was I confident? Not a chance.😔Comfortable in my own skin? Hell no.👎🏼 .
I was comparing myself to EVERY other girl there. Wishing I looked different. Envious of their outfits, hair, arms, asses, boobs, makeup...you name it. I was incredibly nervous to be on stage wondering what a crowd full of people thought about me being selected as one of the gals to dance at Jake’s tiki bar during the show.😦
These comparisons, negative thoughts and fears were strictly internal - it wasn’t that kind of self-deprecating behavior where I was complaining about my looks to those around me fishing for compliments to help boost my ego.😕 Really no one but me knew the extent of it; overall, I hid it pretty well.🙅🏻♀️🙈
But even the drunken humor I used to try and distract my own mind, as well as everyone else’s attention, wasn’t enough to cover up or prevent the embarrassment I felt inside from bleeding through to the outside a little bit too.🙍🏻♀️You could see it in my body language, the way I walked and carried myself, and even in my smile. 😬
Granted, today’s picture was taken in the comfort of my own home. Not around a bunch of other women. But I’d say that it speaks volumes about the growth I’ve made mentally, physically, and especially in the ability to be unapologetically ME. 🙏🏼
I won’t say I NEVER compare myself anymore. Or that I don’t get in my own head. Or that I am one hundred percent confident. But I AM learning to love the skin I’m in and more importantly, the person I’ve always been but am improving on every day. ✌🏼💪🏼 .

It's 2018...Who still thinks meat is nutritious or that they'll become protein deficient without it? Who still thinks heme iron is a better source than non-heme, when oxidative damage and self regulation of mineral status is considered? Who still thinks conversion rates of ALA to DHA and EPA depend only on omega 6/3 ratio and that our metabolic regulatory loops are not exquisitely dynamic and responsive to our diet (just like mineral status)? Who still thinks eggs or dairy are more ethical alternatives and/or healthy? Who still worries about phytoestrogens, yet willingly consumes animal foods loaded with real estrogen?
Who still thinks the honey bee is a safe and sustainable option for pollination needs? That the honey bee is even an efficient/optimal pollinator for the majority of crops? The list of myths is too long for one post.
So much peer reviewed research is published now. So much personal experience over decades has been reported by so many now. I could just assume there are so many stupid people, but that would be very lazy. The real answer is cognitive dissonance, people simply are predictably irrational. Confirmation bias is a strong force in our society today, and habits dominate people more than they can possibly imagine.

LENTIL SLOPPY JOES!!
Ok so I never thought I’d have sloppy joes again, but I DID IT! These were so good guys. Took me about an hour to make, so tasty. Here’s what you need, and then I’ll explain how to make it. •
•2 cups water (use 1 cube of bullion)
•1 cup green lentils
•2 tbsp olive oil
•2 cloves garlic
•1/2 green bell pepper
•Salt and pepper to Taste
•15oz can tomato sauce
•1-2 Tbsp coconut sugar to Taste
•1-2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
•1-2 tsp chili powder
•1 Tsp ground cumin •Pinch of paprika
(If you want it sweeter, add more coconut sugar, if you want it more savory, add more Worcestershire sauce)
-To a small saucepan, add liquid and lentils. Cook for 20+ minutes and heat over medium-high heat.
-Bring to a low boil, then reduce heat to a simmer and cook uncovered for about 18 minutes, or until tender. The water should have a constant simmer (not boil). Drain off any excess liquid and set aside.
-In the meantime, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add oil, onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Season with a pinch each salt and pepper and stir to combine.
-Sautè for 4-5 minutes, stirring frequently, or until the peppers and onions are tender and slightly browned.
-Next add tomato sauce, coconut sugar (I used coconut nectar), vegan worcestershire sauce, chili powder, cumin, and paprika (optional). Stir to combine.
-Once the lentils are cooked, add them to the skillet as well, and stir to combine.
-Continue cooking the mixture over medium-low heat until completely warmed through and thick, stirring occasionally - about 5-10 minutes.
-Taste and adjust flavor as needed, adding more chili powder and/or cumin for smokiness, salt for saltiness, coconut sugar for sweetness, or worcestershire for depth of flavor.
-Serve on whatever bread you’d like :)

An oldie but a goodie 🥑 🍅 🥗 Spiralize some zucchini and top with cherry tomato, steamed edamame, hemp hearts and nutritional yeast. The pesto is made from avocado blended with lemon juice, garlic, and basil 🌿 It can feel like such a hassle to throw together dinner at the end of a long day but I promise this one can be done in 20 minutes or less.
Every ones has opinions and excuses. When you’re wired differently, you’ll make it happen regardless. Our time is too short to spend lingering on negativity... be happy and take time to do what you love and makes you smile.

first post wooo!! after almost two years of being vegan and posting pictures of my food online, i finally decided to make an instagram account dedicated to just that. hopefully you find what i post interesting, and if you have any suggestions or ideas, please let me know!! i’ve been stockpiling meals and pictures and can already say that i love getting even more creative with my food and trying new recipes, even if i completely make them up myself. that being said, what i like to eat just may not be for you, but that’s no reason to call my food gross or weird. okay, enough rambling, now for the food!!
you’ll soon see that I LOVE PASTA, but the kind i get is made completely from beans. it doesn’t taste drastically different than regular pasta, and adds a little more protein to your meal. the drizzle on top is vegan alfredo sauce, which i bought from a health food store during my visit to oak island, but if you want me to try to recreate it, please let me know! i also added steamed brussel sprouts, aka my favorite vegetable, and sprinkled some paprika on top 🍝🥦

a lot of brussel sprouts, which i got from the freezer section of walmart .
for the pasta, i filled up a pot of water until the bottom was covered, let it boil, and then just... cooked the pasta. add more water if it gets stuck to the bottom. i find that this pasta, and many that i eat, do not take very long to cook at all, so watch the stove!! i put the bag of brussel sprouts in the microwave for about 3-4 minutes, and then added the sauce. once i added spices and took the picture, i combined the ingredients and mixed it all together. there you go! if you would want to see prices and how long it takes to make, let me know so i can pay more attention 😂

Pizza crust of your choice (I was lazy and bought a frozen pre-made crust from @mothersmarkets
Vegan BBQ sauce (I bought @annieshomegrown
Your favorite chicken alternative (I used @beyondmeat
grilled chicken strips)
Your favorite vegan cheese (I used @parmelacreamery
Mozzarella style shreds)
Vegan ranch dressing (@followyourheart
is my favorite)
And some sliced red onion
Start by chopping your chicken into bite sized pieces, then toss them with the BBQ sauce until they’re fully coated. Spread the chicken out evenly on top of the pizza crust. Then lightly drizzle some more sauce all over the pizza. Next, sprinkle the cheese and red onion all over. Bake it in the oven according the the pizza crust baking instructions.
When it’s done baking, let it cool for a few minutes and then lightly drizzle the ranch all over the pizza. I sprinkled some parsley on top as well to make it look pretty. Then slice it up and enjoy the crap out of it.

I’m alwaysss concocting new protein bars/balls recipes and I have to say this has been one of my favorites yet😍😋🙌🏻 If you’re looking for a way to curb your sweet tooth in a healthy, guilt-free way, I highly recommend trying my recipe🤗💕 They’re full of protein, healthy fats & carbs, and fiber🙌🏻
R E C I P E:
🔹1 cup cashews
🔹1 cup medjool dates
🔹1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
🔹1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I used @vega_team
vanilla protein & greens to keep the recipe vegan, of course😉😋)
🔹2 tsp vanilla extract
🔹1-1/2 tsp cinnamon
M E T H O D:
🔹Place all ingredients into a food processor (swipe right for the picture demo), and blend everything together. Roll into individual balls (recipe should make about 10) and place them onto a plate to freeze. Freeze for 1 hour. Take them out and enjoy!🤗😋 .
Side note: Store remaining balls in the refrigerator to preserve freshness & all the flavor goodness😉💕
