*Exhale.* The last 10 days have been long. They literally feel like a year. I have learned so much. They have been filled with fear, anger, sadness, rage, hope, joy, love, and so much more. 10 or so days ago I left from home to go to a transport and rescue 45 or so dogs and cats from the hurricane. We were literally trying to outrun the hurricane, and I am happy to say that we got them all to safety just in time. After that, we went into the heart of the hurricane for the past week to find survivors and give them the love and care that they deserve. We ended up rescuing a few pigs and dozens of birds. Our other team members rescued countless dogs and cats. And there are still more out there. I’ve never done search and rescue before like this before, but man did I learn so much. I am so thankful for the people, rescues and resources that helped us pull this off, and all of the amazing people that I got to work with. Ya’ll are seriously superstars. Super heroes. I want to be all of you when I grow up! *trying really hard not to cry as I write this* I am overwhelmed with all the feelings and lack of sleep but will be back on here soon. Thanks again, all of you. There are SO many messed up things in this world. Death, torture- so much unnecessary pain and suffering. Please remember that all the animals in need wouldn’t be in these life threatening situations if it wasn’t for us putting them there. This is the least we can do for them. Thousands on thousands of farmed animals drowned, got sent to slaughter even earlier, and sufferers a slow and painful deaths because of human consumption of their bodies. Remember that. I love making poha on a Saturday morning. It’s so easy and a big batch will last me through to Tuesday. Flattened rice, peanuts, potato, chilli and a bunch of spices. Super easy and tasty AF.

I was having too much fun and forgot to take photos.... Today I met with friends for a Mabon picnic, and we ate like kings. @fafa3688
made these awesome tomatoes with balsamic and sesame seeds. We had lots of vegan wine and another friend brought spiced lentils and veggies. Oh my god it was all so good. There was a lot more food brought by other friends but I dug right in and forgot to document it. There was pasta salad, imperial rolls, chips, crackers, veggies, hummus.. I brought fruit salad and vegan chocolate dip and mixed green salad with seitan. Blessed Mabon 🌒🌕🌘
