Hello friends! I hope you are all having a lovely Tuesday. Just before posting, I was scrolling through my feed and just saw a ton of African food pages I follow share so many meals packed with meat! It saddens me to see these post and it made me question why I follow these pages in the first place. Yes I love to look at these pages for inspiration of Ghanaian foods I can veganize but it also struck me the reality of how much meat is consumed in African meals, WHICH IN MY OPINION IS INCREDIBLY UNNECESSARY. If you hear stories from parents childhood about their diets and their parents diets, meat was not an everyday or even an every month thing. But now things are changing, whereas so much animal protein is added to foods, taking away from the nutrition in the foods. This is why I have my page, it may be VERY SMALL but it’s show that it is possible to cook Ghanaian favourites without all the acidic and fatty animal protein. If only many people accepted this reality, lifestyle disease like diabetes and hypertension would not be on the rise in these countries

Messy sticky rice bowl! *-* Made with oat milk and topped with homemade apple compote from the apple out of my mum's garden plus strawberries and blackberries also from her garden 😍😍😍 Spent the day with my travel buddy to organise some things before we fly off on Thursday 🙌🏻🌴

Epic green nice nice cream and no it does not taste like 💩😂😂! This combo is so flavorful you wouldn’t know all the good it does for yo body! It’s just 2 frozen bananas, 1 tsp matcha (I used @skinnygreencobyronbay
) or greens powder, handful of frozen zucchini(optional), handful of fresh mint (essential 🙌🏽🙌🏽) - blend and serve (I love my @coconutbowls

I’m now obsessed with this burrito bowl ever since I made the really obvious decision to add spices to my beans - something I’ve never done but is soo good. If you’re not the biggest fan of beans def recommend adding spices because they actually taste good
