I can’t believe I slept on @traderjoes vegan orange chick’n morsels for so long!! 🍊🍗🥦🌽🥕 • I’m such a fan of the Gardein ones that I didn’t much care to try but OMG they were so good I even like them better 😂 They’re smaller and you get more in one bag! I thought they were so good I’d just eat them like chicken nuggets 🙃 • I chopped up a head of broccoli, some leftover corn nibblets, shredded carrots, and onion + sautéed with soy sauce and a lil sesame oil. + organic Jasmine rice & sesame seeds! Yum 😋

Его величество 👑 клюквенный соус! 🍒 ⠀ 🍂 В осеннее время он особенно незаменим. Ведь в нем столько витаминов и антиоксидантов, что помогает поддержать организм и повысить иммунитет. ⠀ Приготовить его сможет каждый! ⠀ ❗️рецепт ❗️ ⠀ ✅ замороженная клюква (100 гр.) ⠀ ✅ крахмал (1 чайная ложка) ⠀ ✅ вода (50 мл.) ⠀ ✅ подсластитель (сахар или кленовый сироп) ⠀ ✅ апельсин (по желанию) ⠀ ❗️ приготовление ❗️ ⠀ Разморозить клюкву. Положить ее в кастрюлю с водой и поставить на плиту на большой огонь. Добавить сахар. В стакане с небольшим количеством холодной воды развести крахмал. Когда клюква закипит, добавить воду с крахмалом и убавить на маленький огонь. Варить ещё 5 минут, помешивая. Снять с огня, остудить. По желанию перемолоть в блендере до однородной массы. Убрать в холодильник. Y aquí va la receta del CHILI VEGANO!!!! 🌶🍛🌶 Lo bueno de tener legumbres siempre cocidas y congeladas es que puedes hacerte platos muy completos y muy poco tiempo. Este chili solo me llevo unos 45minutos. Aunque también lo puedes dejar de un día para otro porque al haber reposado estarán más marcados los sabores. Pumpkin Spiced Latte at home! Adding cinnamon to your daily routine may help stabilize blood sugar levels. A few small clinical trials have found cinnamon to have positive results for blood sugar lowering in type 2 diabetics. Overall it appears that taking cassia cinnamon (note studies were not referring to Saigon cinnamon or Ceylon cinnamon which are the fancier cinnamons) at doses of 120 milligrams to 6 grams daily for 4 to 18 weeks can significantly reduce fasting blood sugar levels. For reference, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon is about 5 grams. I love adding cinnamon to my pumpkin latte at home. Along with home brew coffee, pumpkin purée and a creamy nut milk it makes for a tasty and healthy morning treat! 🎃

Black lentils for breakfast anyone? / Qué tal lentejas negras para desayunar?🤔 (traducción abajo). . The most common question I still get is “where do you get your proteins from?”. It never gets old, right? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Today’s protein is derived mainly from black lentils, dark leafy greens and shiitake mushrooms. Yes, all of these have good protein content. I also added some coconut chips and black olives to the mix. It only took me 5 min to prep because I boiled the lentils last night. I swear for meal prep! 😉Now I’m ready and fueled to train, it’s arms and shoulders day for me today! 💚👊 I hope you have a great Wednesday pals 🌱😘 .............. Experimenting with some new protein ball recipes 💪🏼 all plant-based and taking advantage of the incredibly high protein content of @lupinsforlife lupin crumb 🌾 . . . . For this recipe I tried adding cacao powder and was super delighted with the taste! Recipe: - 1 cup dates (soaked for 2 hours prior then drained) - 1/2 cup Lupin crumb - 2 tbs Cacao powder - 2 tbs Matcha powder - 2 tbs Almond butter - 1/4 cup Almond milk (as needed) Blend all ingredients in a food processor then roll in dessicated coconut. You may need to tweak quantities to make the right consistency. Refrigerate for 2 hours minimum before eating (but let’s be honest we all want to take a quick taste test prior to this!) Best homemade vegan coconut oil brownies baked in muffin tin. fudgy, moist, rich and chewy 😋😋😋... . . Ingredients 1 2/3 cup water 1 1/2 tbsp pure vanilla extract 3/4 cup coconut oil 1 1/2 cup wholewheat flour 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 tsp salt 3/4 tsp baking powder 3/4 cup brown sugar or coconut sugar 2/3 cup  regular sugar 2 tbsp ground flax 1 cup mini chocolate chips, optional handful chopped walnuts, optional ***For frosting combine together 1/ 2 a cup cocoa powder, 1/2 a cup extra virgin coconut oil and 2 tbsp maple syrup. Mix very well and spread over brownies. . . Instructions Preheat your oven to 350 F. Line a 9×13 pan with parchment or a muffin tin with paper cups Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. Whisk in wet, and smooth into the pan or paper cups Bake on the center rack, 22 minutes. They should look underdone when you take them out. That's where the clean 15 and dirty dozen comes into play. Eating raw can be made easy if you full up on fruit mainly during the day. Remember to eat fruit on an empty stomach (as your body digests quickly compared to other food groups, if you eat after a meal it can start to ferment, aka bring on bloating and the like) and to not mix with other food groups, the exception being bananas due to their starch content. Yesterday marked International Surfers Day, unless you live in the Northern Hemisphere being today, it falls on the 3rd Saturday of June each year. There are many health benefits to being at the beach, in the ocean and taking up a sport like surfing. Here are a few reasons why you might want to grab your surfboard and go catch a wave .. ○ being out in nature and being exposed to sunlight increases your bodies ability to produce Vitamin D, a vitamin essential for energy and overall wellbeing both physically and mentally ○ standing on the shoreline is a wonderful way to get your daily grounding in. Grounding means standing barefoot on the ground in nature such as at the beach, it has scientifically been proven to reduce inflammation due to ions. ○ Being in the ocean has proved to be anti inflammatory due to high mineral content and ions, meaning less aches and pain ○ Boosts immunity ○ A great time to practice mindfulness and feel gratitude for the beauty of nature ○ Surfing as a sport can help improve cardiovascular health, improve balance, support emotional health and can be a lot of fun. ○ Promotes a good night sleep If you have never surfed before I highly recommend taking a surf lesson even if it's just for the fun and the adventure of it. Why plantbased diet? There are many reasons why one may switch to an all plantbased diet. Or maybe it's a matter of not eating 100% plantbased but rather consciously wanting to incorporate more fruits and vegetables in one's diet. I would like to share the reasons why I switched to a wholefoods plantbased diet back in 2010. Primarily it was a way to tackle and better manage my Fibromyalgia symptoms and in turn has reinforced my love of animals that I've had since childhood. The benefits of a wholefoods plantbased diet: ○ reduce inflammation ○ increase and or stabilize energy levels ○ naturally detoxifying ○ healthy gut ○ better digestion, less bloating, regular bowel movement ○ help to prevent and or the early onset of non-communiable diseases such as cancer, heart disease ○ better cardiovascular health ○ anti aging ○ helps with brain fog ○ help to relieve or eliminate allergies ○ helps to manage or put autoimmune dieases into remission such as Fibromyalgia, Graves Disease, Autoimmune Underactive Thyroid, Psoriasis, POTS Along with diet, I am conscious and continuely working on stress management, sleep, low impact exercise along with being conscious of minimizing exposures from chemicals and toxins, by using natural household, beauty and hygiene products. If any of these factors become out of balance, my fibromyalgia can flare, it's a continual work in progress. It's about progress not perfection. A delicious quick strawberry recipe for when times not on your side Strawberries and Cream ○ Dice strawberries into a glass, add coconut yoghurt and a drizzle of maple syrup with dark chocolate shavings, delish! When you've got time ... Strawberry and Balsamic Semifreddo Ingredients: 1 tsp Maple Syrup 85ml water 450g ripe Strawberries 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar Method 1. Pour the maple syrup and water into a saucepan and bring to the boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce the heat, add strawberries and simmer for 2 minutes. Remove from heat left to cool. 2. Place mixture made from step 1along with Balsamic Vinegar into a food processor for approximately 30 seconds (until a chunky mixture is formed) 3. Pour the mixture into a freezer proof container and free for approximately 1 1/2 -2 hours or until semi-frozen. Stir at least once during freezing. 4. Scoop spoonfuls of the semifreddo into glasses and decorate with free strawberries, shaven dark non dairy chocolate and edible flowers. Here's a recipe to try out over the weekend .. Happy weekend everyone Tofu Salad Cups Ingredients: ○ 1 Onion ○ 1 Organic Block of Tofu ○ 1 Tablespoon Coconut oil Sauce Ingredients: ○ 1/ 4 cup of Cashews ○ 1 teaspoon Coconut Sugar ○ 2 Tablespoons Lemon juice ○ Salt and Pepper ○ Parsley ○ Lettuce leaves Method: 1. Add coconut oil to pan, bring up the heat add onions until caramelized. Put onions to the side. 2. Add coconut oil to pan after onions have been removed and add tofu (cut into small cube sizes). Once tofu is cooked add onion and Cashew sauce, mix in together. Cashew Sauce Add pre-soaked cashews, coconut sugar, lemon juce, salt, pepper into blender until smooth, add water slowly until desired consistency, slightly runny. 3. Place Tofu mixture into lettuce cups add parsley to garnish. While you're eating these delicious Tofu Lettuce Cups reflect on how your body is feeling nourished. Tofu is an excellent source of dietary protein along with iron and Calcium. Lettuce is high in water content, hence hydrating and contains nutrients such as vitamin c and potassium. P.S. I made this recipe a few months ago and I personally choose to have tofu only in moderation. Some studies show if over consumed it may interfere with thyroid function and can act as a phytoestrogen. If you're concerned about getting enough protein in your diet remember all plant foods have protein. Foods that have a higher comprehensive amino acid profile (aka the components that make up complete protein) are Lentils, beans (e.g. Chickpeas), Broccoli, nuts and seeds. It's World Meat Free Week 11th -17th June. Here are a few simple tips if you would like to give it a go 1. Swap out meat for more vegetables in your stir frys. Try adding brown rice or quinoa to bulk up the meal. 2. Swap out mince for lentils and or red kidney beans in your Mexican or Italian style dishes. 3. With World Ocean Day in mind this week, highlighting the damaging effects of plastic on our oceans, it has made me reflect on what I can do personally. It can seem daunting at first as our society has become so accustomed to the use of plastic. I wanted to share some simple ideas and tips for mankinds journey towards a plastic free future. 1. Reduce your use of single-use plastics 2. Recycle 3. Participate in beach or river cleanup 4. Avoid microbeads found in many beauty and hygiene products. 5. Take your own reusable bags to the supermarket. 6. Choose items such as toothbrushes, ear buds etc that aren't made from plastic, rather eco sustainable options. 7. Statistics show ... *80% of all pollution in the ocean comes from people on land. *8 million tonne of plastic per year ends up in our oceans, causing havoc on wildlife and tourism. *Plastic pollution costs the lives of 1 million seabirds and 100,000 marine mammals each year. *Fish inevitably eat plastic, and many humans chose to eat fish therefore digesting plastic themselves. *Plastic causes $8 billion in damage to our marine ecosystems per year.
