Today Iโm sharing why eating less or no animal products is one of the best things you canย do for the environment.
.
The meat industry leads to:
.* Mass deforestation (to clear land for the animals as well as the soy, grain etc grown to feed them).
.* Methane from cows and fertiliser leading to crazy amounts of greenhouse gas emissions.
. .* Pollution of streams, rivers and, ultimately, the ocean.
.
Itโs also impossible to ignore the cruelty aspect. ๐ Okja & Cowspiracy on Netflix are great to watch if you want to know more about the meat industry.
.
During a chat this past weekend,
@olliebrowndesign pointed out that itโs better to focus on exploring new ways of enjoying vegetables & making awesome plant based meals, rather than removing meat from your usual meals or seeing something missing. What an awesome perspective & growth mindset. ๐๐ What are your go-to veggie recipes?
.
This is always a tough one to talk about. I get it. Diets are so personal & dependent on each individualโs needs, culture, access, income & availability. But, if you can, cutting down on meat & dairy really is a huge step to living a more eco friendly life. ๐ฎ๐
