Meghan Markle just rocked her first solo royal engagement. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Four months into her life as a royal, the Duchess of Sussex arrived solo at the Royal Academy of Arts in London to mark the opening of its new exhibit: Oceania.
The exhibit celebrates art from the Oceania region spanning over 500 years. It’s an especially fitting event for Meghan to attend, since the exhibit features artwork from places (New Zealand, Fiji, and Australia, to name a few) she’ll visit during her royal tour with Prince Harry next month! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The Duchess always looks well turned out, but this is one of my favorite things she’s worn in a while. Her black Givenchy dress featured beautiful details, including silk georgette sleeves and a velvet inset. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She let the dress take center stage, pairing it with luxe accessories she’s come to rely on: her Aquazzurra bow pumps, black and gold Givenchy clutch, and Birks Snowflake Snowstorm earrings. I don’t believe the belt is part of the dress, but I haven’t been able to find designer info for it yet. I will add when that becomes clear.
👑Is She Or Isn’t She?👑
As of yesterday, Meghan’s parade of loose-fitting ensembles and frilly bodices (along with her new hairstyle) had me starting to think she might actually be expecting. Did today’s appearance just blow that theory out of the water? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m honestly not sure. But I WILL say, if she is already pregnant, it’s too early for her to be showing at all—that, or she’s got access to some industrial-strength shapewear.
Bump-watch aside, Meghan looked radiant at the event, and pulled off her first solo flight with just as much grace and sophistication as we’ve come to expect of her. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
