How do you decompress? Do you have a method that works for you? Maybe it's reading, or music, or "escaping to the bathroom" for a moment of peace away from little children. 😜 Lately I have spending a lot more time on my bike. I ride it to work during the week and it's become my go-to mode of transportation in town when I'm independent. But tonight I went for a solo sunset ride after a fun, action-packed Dakota Days (homecoming) weekend. Tonight it was quiet and peaceful (after the game ended- with a win!- and the tailgating parties calmed down a bit). While riding I had to close most of the computer tabs that are usually open in my brain... and just enjoy the ride. Be mindful and present, and choosing to BE. To listen to my breath and be thankful for my lungs. To feel my legs push through each stride and be thankful for my strength. Notice the breeze that passes my ears and ponytail and be thankful for a perfect fall evening. I just looked at the miles and miles of open land with gratefulness of today. Because regardless of the ebbs and flows of the day, today is a gift. And I am thankful.
