It looked like it was going to be a relatively straightforward wedding. The groom was far more organized than normal. It was incredibly cold, and the wind was blowing 30 to 40 miles an hour. But we had that relatively under control with a space heater of our own plus one of the gas heaters provided by the wedding party. The waterfall was on and quite loud. But we had our amplification and adjusted the volume so that we could be heard quite well throughout the seating area.
So everything looked like it was under control. The groom walked down the aisle with his daughter, and the bridesmaids and groomsmen followed. Finally, the bride processed triumphantly to her song, and we were ready to begin the ceremony. However, an announcement was made that the wedding minister was missing. A friend of the groom came around and asked us had we seen the wedding minister. Belinda answered ‘No, we have not’. Michael said “I can do it, and it would be legal“. Since it was freezing cold, we needed to go ahead and start. (The guests were in bad shape. Brrr….)
Michael’s volunteer ministry was accepted, and Belinda asked if there was a script. The groom had the script on his iPhone. Michael read the script successfully for the wedding. After presenting the bride and groom, he ran to the back to help Belinda play the recessional, “So Happy Together”. So for this wedding Michael played harp, bagpipes, and officiated the wedding. #angelicstrimgs #harpATX #viola #bagpipes #ceremonymusicandmore #love
