What a crazy day! Started hiking the #zionnarrows
at sunrise today and 2 miles in we heard people calling for help on top of a 6 story waterfall... we were able to get #searchandrescue
to save them! Then we continued to walk the beautiful #virginriver
!!! Zion is amazing but we are finally exhausted! Ready for #vegas
A very Zion sunset.
The Virgin river pictured here is never far when you visit Zion (on a typical visit, anyways). If you hike the Narrows, you'll be going through the river.
The Virgin river is the lifeblood of the area, helping to create the lush biomes found on the canyon floor while also producing violent outbursts that wash away everything in its way. Roads, trees, and boulders are nothing to this river at its fiercest.
we didn’t expect to see two Mule Deer deep in The Narrows of Zion this morning! Just so people know there are vertical 2000ft plus cliffs on each side of the river. Not sure how or where they got in?!
Here is a "flash back Friday" photo from June of 2017. Angela and I talk about Southern Utah as the most amazing and diverse place in Our Country. It never seems to prove us wrong. This was our first glimpse of the Narrows in Zion National Park. We grabbed our suggested walking sticks that were abandoned by the canyon wall and set out on a wet adventure. The hike went up the Virgin River for about 90 minutes. We look forward to completing this sketchy hike in the future. Until then we will smile and tell stories of a faraway home.
Sometimes I don’t love the skin I am in. Sometimes I criticize too much about myself. It is in these moments that I look at photos like this. I will never not love seeing myself surrounded by nature. I will always love the body that has carried me underneath the sky and among the trees. The body that has walked on mountain tops and chased adventure. It is in these moments that I am always reminded that I have reasons to love myself. 💚💙
My favorite photo of all our trips so far. Always venture further in the canyon away from the crowds.
The Narrows. 🏜
favourite National park is Zion National Park in Utah. A must visit Park. Words are not enough for this place! This place will change you from the inside out. The only hike we did was Angel Landing and believe me you won’t regret. We wanted to experience Riverside walk but the water was freezing cold that we could not even go further after just crossing the river 😂 I would say we we’re not prepared with required gears for this.
