As promised, today I’m going to talk to you guys about the wildlife in @yellowstonenps
The photo you see here was taken on my iPhone, in a split second. I was lucky to even capture this moment. I did not zoom in, or approach this wild buffalo. It was actually taken from the passenger seat of the car, while driving down the road to exit the park. •
On my Live Photo, you can actually see the buffalo raise it’s head and look directly at me. As silly as it sounds, it felt like it was looking me directly in the eyes. I have so much respect for all wildlife, but especially the animals that could seriously injure or kill me.
It was not only heartbreaking to see so many dumb tourists encroaching on their space to get a better photo, but also just not a good or safe idea.
If you are in a National Park (or anywhere), please respect the land, animals, and other people. This land is supposed to be preserved. We are so incredibly lucky to get to see and experience these places. Do not degrade or take away from that experience. •
Please remember to treat these places with the upmost respect. I want future generations to be able to fall in love with these Parks the same way that I have, but that takes corporation. As my momma always says “leave everywhere more beautiful than how you found it.” •
Pick up trash, give these wild animals space, donate to the parks. Whatever actions, big or small, just make sure they leave a positive footprint wherever you walk.
