The Gwangjang Market is said to be the first and oldest permanent market in the city.
This woman operates in a small space that you couldn’t even take a step in, and in that area was the fridge, tank of fresh seafood, sink, kitchen counter and trash.
We were lucky to get a seat there as her stall is one of the more popular ones, and we ordered freshly chopped up and still wiggling octopus. I didn’t have time to question my decision when it was served, she scooped it up and shoved it in my mouth before I could think about it. She did that for every dish we ordered. I didn’t see her doing that with anyone else, so I guess I should be flattered as she is one of the veterans there.
