Allah (SWT) has made us guardians over this Earth. This means that each and every one of us is responsible for taking care of the environment around us and preserving our water, land and air.
We will be accountable for our actions by how much we have contributed to the health of our planet, either positively or negatively. Our individual efforts can bring about great changes if we work together to protect our environment, and more importantly, our Earth
Now ask yourself.....Am I fulfilling my obligation to protect and preserve our Earth as what is expected of me from my Lord?
time you decide to litter on the land you are entrusted to take care of, or to dispose trash into the oceans we are entrusted to keep clean, or waste water that we are entrusted to preserve, or share in any way to the depletion or abuse of our planet, then remember these ayahs:
“…And do not desire corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters. ” Quran 28:77
“..Eat and drink from the provision of Allah, and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption.” Quran, 2:60
“And it is He (God) who has made you successors (khala’ifa) upon the earth and has raised some of you above others in degrees [of rank] that He may try you through what He has given you. Indeed, your Lord is swift in penalty; but indeed, He is Forgiving and Merciful.” (Quran 6:165)
