It took me a loooooong time to learn what my body was trying to tell me...and for years I ignored what it said. *
But I have so much work to do.
"I need nutrients"
I'm just gonna eat this entire pizza till you shut up.
"I'm so stressed out, I need to work out some stress"
Well I have to sit at this desk to get my work done.
"I'm running on empty, my immune system needs a reset"
I don't have time for that, I have too much to do.
We all do this. Because we have been born into an age where resting, self-care, proper nutrition, daily exercise, and loving yourself is considered a luxury. When in reality they are the only way we will survive long term. We cannot rely only on western medicine, (don't get me wrong...I'm not bashing medicine at all) but they do not fix a lifestyle that perpetuates more illness, mental/physical fatigue, malnutrition, etc...we do.
Taking care of yourself is not a luxury, it is a necessity that needs to be allowed time. When you start to feel sick, sleep. When you need nutrients (always)-eat whole nutrient dense foods not garbage, when you're stressed-move your body...go for a walk, do yoga, exercise. You only get one body in this life...so treat it like the prized possession that it is.
