At every Equinox and Solstice, I take pictures of my kids in front of this tree in our front yard. Our "Drew Tree", this weeping birch, helps us mark the seasons and the flow of life.
It is suffering now, after 2 years of prolonged dry periods - last year was a drought for the majority of the summer and it's looking like this year is shaping up about the same. It's June 22nd and the tree hasn't even leafed out properly.
We had no measureable rain all spring. We estimate with the scattered showers we've gotten, that there's been maybe 4/10" of rain on our land.
It's thirsty, and it's showing.
Send, pray, chant, dance, meditate, wish, or cross your fingers for rain for us, please. 💕
