I feared ALL food. It filled up every moment of thought from when I woke to how many cals I’d eat the next day.. . . If you’ve been through an ED Or been addicted to calorie counting you will understand when I say I would spend hours in the supermarket reading labels and adding up my totals for the day. . . I would turn packets of processed food over and over in my hands wondering if I could give Myself permission to eat the food, and then what I would have to do to burn it off (and some) . I would drool over the things that were “bad” foods and long for the day that I could allow myself just a bite to savour the taste without a feeling of guilt or shame. . Everything would be the lowest calorie, or diet, or low fat... didn’t matter how many preservatives were in the box or packet, I wouldn’t care... just so long as I could keep my cals under a certain number it was deemed “safe” . . My days were spent on a treadmill or bike pounding it out till the cows came home just to burn more than yesterday so I felt I was winning... this feeling of winning never lasted long with the voice in my head telling me it was never, ever enough. . . I lived like this for too long . Even when I moved from Ana to Mia, the counting, restricting and sabotaging went on full throttle, in fact my obsession became worse. I became then addicted to numbers, counting, bingeing and repeating and this became my story for a long part of my life. And not only did my body suffer, my mind lost it as well. . . IT DOSSNT HAVE TO BE THIS WAY. . . Self love was what I was searching for in the means of a “perfect body” that would never, ever be perfect. The more I searched, the more I restricted, the more I exercised and thrashed my body, the more flaws I found, the more pain I felt, and the more shame I would suffer. . Little did I realise at the time that self love was to nurture and embrace my flaws, meant to let go of the control, it meant to move slower and more mindful, and to look within... this was love. . This is within all of us. Every. Single. Human. We are NOT exempt from it, we need to feel, embrace and forgive in order to move forward ❤️ . See my story for this recipe😍

Breakfast today was oats, @myproteinuk Cinnamon danish protein powder and 20g Nutella! So I had a little time away not posting which was nice! I’ve been following #hungerdirectedeating for a little while and have managed to maintain for the last 3/4 weeks, it’s not a loss but eating the foods I wanted and not gaining weight felt good. But I personally need a bit more control-not restriction but just control. So I’m gonna be applying the concept of hde whilst calorie counting, but if I have a meal accounted for yet I’m full half way through I will leave it...just like if I want a biscuit and I haven’t counted that in my day I will still have it.
