How often do you change your rep ranges around? Do you always do "3 sets of 10 reps" because that is the "muscle building" range?⠀ -⠀ I'm going to recommend that you switch up your rep ranges if you have been doing the same sort of workout for the last two months or so.⠀ -⠀ Why is it important change rep ranges?⠀ -⠀ You want to be able to challenge your muscles after they have adapted to the phase you are on to encourage new growth in those muscles.⠀ -⠀ Think of it like this. If you played baseball growing up, or any sport, do they keep you in T-Ball all of little league? No, you have to go on to a new challenge. First you face pitching from a coach, then you go on to some kind of machine (at least I did), then you go to player pitch.⠀ -⠀ Point is, you have to vary it to continue to build more muscle. But in Ayurveda, we take into consideration these 3 things:⠀ ⠀ 👉Food Choices, meaning What we eat.⠀ 👉Food Habits, meaning How we eat.⠀ 👉Food Combining.⠀ L⠀ L⠀ Today I want to share with you 3 food combining tips to help you digest your food better and as a consequence lose weight:⠀ ⠀ ✔️ Eat animal protein (meat, fish, seafood, eggs and cheese) with vegetables only.⠀ When combined with grains or other foods like beans, animal protein becomes very difficult to digest. The digestive process slows down, and the animal protein by-product putrefies in the intestines, while the grain by-product ferments. Foods that have putrefied and fermented, generate toxic acids and alcohol, The result in gas, flatulence, heartburn, indigestion, a feeling of fatigue and ROLAIDS! If not Rolaids, Tums, Peptobismol, Mylanta, milk of magnesia etc… you get the picture! Also make sure you don’t eat more than one kind of protein at a time.⠀ L⠀ L⠀ ✔️Eat raw fruits alone.⠀ And away from any other meal. I like to eat my fruits in the morning, half an hour to an hour before I have breakfast. ❗️Progressive Overload❗️ . . I get a lot of questions on this and it’s something you need to know. Progressive overload is one of, if not the most important principle of training, no matter what your goal is (it could be related to nutrition in a way too) . . In very simple terms, it’s how you improve in the gym over time (weeks, months and years). You can progress by lifting more weight, doing more sets, reps, taking less rest and so on. It won’t happen with every exercise every week, but it’s over the long term that matters . . For example, last week you saw me deadlifts 160kg for 4 reps and this week I did 165kg for my final set (I also increased the weights in the other sets by 5kgs) . . This weight isn’t anything special but that’s not the point. It’s the point of progressing and pushing yourself, both mentally and physically. That’s how you get the body you want. Not from half arsing your trading! Got it❓ . . Good Morning and Happy Monday! I still have photos from a Mother's Day photoshoot I won last month with @brandi_morgan_photography so I'll be sharing those with y'all untill I have no more left 😂 My guy is constantly picking flowers and giving them to me, it's something he loves to do so it was no surprise he did it when we were taking photos at this beautiful location in Helotes which made for a great picture. Jax is 4 years old and almost done with Pre-K. I'm kind of freaking out he's going to kindergarten next year and its a daily reminder that he is growing up and I'm getting old 😮 Who else's kiddos are going to kindergarten next year? I had described what my new place would look like, location, near subway, number of rooms etc. The place I live know is all that I wrote, even the name of the street and bus stop in front were described. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What I am trying to say with my example is ... You have to be careful what you write and wish for because it really does happen. If you wish for great positive things they will happen and if you wish for bad things they will too. So chose wisely ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you want to make some changes to your health, be it lose weight, not suffer from PMS, painful periods, regain your energy, feel vibrant and sexier, regain control of your hormones and balance mood and energy. You will need to work for it, make sustainable changes because there is no magical pill, miracles. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Many times what is lacking is a coach to guide you through those changes. Good intentions will not lead to weight loss or better health unless you make yourself a priority. . Never-ending appointments, working full-time, mom life, volunteer work, and other family obligations will get in the way of your goals if you allow them too. I work with several busy entrepreneurs, professors, moms, doctors, etc and everyone is searching for more time to eat better, get healthier, and exercise on a consistent basis. It is a big struggle for so many of us! I personally struggle with this as a mom of two little girls and running a full-time business. There just isn’t enough time in the day to do everything and it's so easy to cut out my workouts, skip food prepping, and skip meals when my schedule is jam-packed. . I know what it feels like to go all day, but still, have several things left on my check-list at the end of the day. . I am thankful for my challenges because it allows me to feel what my clients experience on a daily basis. It is so hard, BUT we cannot give up. . We have to make the time for our workouts and we have to make the time to eat healthily. Our families, our careers, and livelihood depend on it. . If we are not healthy, we cannot do the things we love and live the life we desire. All this hard work is for something, so it's important to have your health when you reach your destination. . To get control of your health you have to get control of your schedule. . Schedule a few workouts a week. Only have 20 minutes? Great, its better than nothing! You don’t need 5 workouts per week to lose weight and feel better. . Make eating healthy a priority!! Struggling to make dinners every night? No worries, order out from a healthy restaurant or find quick and easy recipes to make. . Skipping meals throughout the day? Carry a protein bar and some nuts on you at all times. Eat them in your car or during a meeting if you have too. . When trying to lose weight, your main objective is a calorie deficit. If you expend more calories than you consume, weight loss is achieved. Put it in the microwave oven and bake the chicken uncovered for 1 hour; bake until an instant-read thermometer reads 160 degrees Fahrenheit when inserted into the thickest part of the chicken (breast part). ⠀ 10. Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Cook half the chicken for 4 minutes each side or until golden. Transfer to a plate. Repeat with remaining chicken. 2) Heat the remaining oil in the pan.
