Left is sometime in 2009, I worked hospo, I partied hard (but definitely not as hard as I had done previously), I had been in Australia about 6 months.
Right is me last week, to say life is different is an understatement.
I no longer party, my health and fitness is a priority, I don’t see this as a sacrifice. I don’t miss being drunk every night. I don’t miss the hangovers.
In between these two photos, I gained weight and lost weight (and then repeated this cycle) has either made me happy?
It helped teach me that happiness is not based on your external appearance. I can be shredded AF, but still struggle with what I see in the mirror, or I can be a few kgs heavier and feel totally at peace with the world.
I have an extreme emotional attachment to how I perceive myself and I’ve come to the understanding that I am probably never going to be 100% ok with how I look; but you know what? That’s ok.
We are fed this “self love” mantra and that’s great and all. BUT there are going to be “fat days” and days where your clothes look all wrong and you just want to hide under the doona. It really is ok not to be ok, the problem comes when you choose to stay there. Acknowledge that you feel like 💩 and give yourself a break. It’s going to be ok and no amount of weight loss or make up or new clothes is going to make you happy. It’s just a band aid and you deserve better than that.

I'm no where close to where I want to be and I by far dont have the perfect body but I love myself and every curve. Yes I have stretch marks, my belly button dont look the same after 4 beautiful Angel's I've had and have some loose skin and wouldnt trade my Angel's for anything in the world! but idc just being real and will always be. The real beauty comes from within! Every woman is beautiful!

We didn’t feel like cooking, but also felt like eating something nutritious so we chose Poke Bowls from @quickfish
I used to think that eating out meant it was a free for all - go for the pizza and fries and dessert. And that’s fine sometimes. The problem is that many of us go out a few times each week, so it’s a good idea to think about making healthier choices some of those times.
Keep in mind that you’re shooting for meals that are high in protein, high in greens and veggies, and lower on foods high in fat and sugar.
Do you have favorite restaurants that serve whole, nutrient dense foods? I’m lucky to live in Portland where there are a ton of them!

Day 6: mostly leg day! I would love to say it’s getting easier but nope not yet. I will say that I’m not so nervous to use the machines even if I’m not doing totally correct yet. Also I SUCK at lunges lol... one day at time!

Bundle up it’s chilly outside.
I made the most amazing breakfast/lunch today! A smoothie bowl version of Jamba Juice's pomegranate paradise. 1/2 cup frozen mango, 1/2 cup frozen peaches, 1 cup frozen strawberries and about 1.5 cups of pomegranate juice. The recipe is supposed to be 1 cup but my blender is cheap and requires more liquid if I want it to blend. I topped the bowl with sliced fresh strawberries, roasted coconut flakes, chia seeds and sunflower seeds.

Both show my upper left arm with steri-strip stiches) I had a minor set back with my work out routines due to complications with my Nexplanon birth control implant removal. The doctor nicked a blood vessel and I lost a lof of blood. The doctor also lost the implant in my arm and it was floating around my upper arm for a few days before getting entwined in tissues and going back to where it was supposed to be. The first procedure was 08/09. On 09/01 I went back in, to a different doctor and she removed the implant. I have only been able to work out once since 08/09 due to not being able to lift or hold more than about 5 lbs with that arm which makes going to the gym or doing yoga or any type of workout where you need to use any sort of force with your arms very difficult. Luckily the 2nd procedure went a lot smoother and seems to be healing faster.
