Anyway, today was a little odd in that I randomly came home to Mac n cheese that my husband made for my son and had a weak moment of low self control BUT I tracked it and adjusted accordingly. I love that I can be flexible. I never ever ever thought I’d be an entrepreneur. NEVER! It always seemed like something out of my wheelhouse and way too scary to even attempt. Even when I started coaching, I started it as a hobby. Something to fill my cup, not to be a business. But as soon as I started seeing the change that could happen physically and mentally, I realized that I was made for this and I HAD to pay it forward ✨ I’ve always been commended for my hard work ethic, but what I didn’t know is that I could use it to work for ME and MY future, instead of someone else’s 💖 Now, I work on the evenings and weekends, something I never thought I would do. But I want to, I love it, it fulfills me and brings me more joy than I ever thought I deserved 🌟
Long sappy post warning!⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ So I was listening to Ariana Grandes song “Thank u, next” and like it kind of hit me: This long as journey I’ve been on with my body has been a similar experience as described in the song. The body I’ve had has been the same just always changing. The picture on the far right is my lowest weight but the least amount of love I have ever had for myself. I didn’t take care of myself, I had absolutely no muscle mass, and I was miserable (mainly because I’d eat like 4 reduced fat wheat thins and 9 cans of Diet Coke a day). Fast forward 6 years for the middle picture where I was my heaviest weight and I had learned to love myself enough to change. Those changes were hard, friendships weren’t the same, my focus on my career evolved, and I became selfish in the most important way. I stopped thinking about everyone else and looked at what I was doing, how it made me feel, and how it bettered me. I was evolving but wasn’t seeing changes on the scale and I had to keep at it to finally see results. And finally on the left, that’s me about 6 months into my fitness lifestyle. I eat well and I work hard. Soo about a month and half between photos first photo on the left was taken around mid October and then on the right is me now, andddddd I’m happy with this 😁👏🏽 I could have lost “more” but progress is still progress! This was just a month and half.. can’t wait to see where I’ll be in another 6 months 💆🏽‍♀️ but honestly the first thing I noticed was MY CHEST IS GETTING SMALLER WHAT 😂😭 bye good riddance 👋🏼 you girls were too much anyway. Also noticed my hips are smaller and my face has thinned out some. Don’t give up! It all adds up 🙏🏼 it’s really crazy how fast you can put on weight and how long it actually takes to lose it, the universe got me fucked up 🙄 it’s such a huge learning curve when you’re changing your life style there’s so many different ways to be “healthy” or “fit” so many do’s and don’ts and different opinions on things, HENCE the “journey” 🤣 but it’s all worth it. Tomorrow is a new day! This week marks my first week using @idealnutritionnow for my meal prepping. It is a local meal prep service here in South Florida. I ordered 26 meals for the week and I will be eating 4 of them daily combined with healthy snacks. Each meal is under 500 calories which is where I want to be. Although I know how to cook, I want to commit more time to working out so this will be a huge time saver for me. I am taking it one week at a time. So here's to a new game plan. Okay y’all! I finally have a chance to post this. Teacher life was kind of busy today 😩 Let me just say Happy Monday Friends!!! After two days of rest(it really wasn’t my choice) ya girl finally had her butt back in the gym and it felt amazing. Cardio which has gone from being my favorite to my least fav. actually felt good (who am I!!) I’m going to level with y’all. On this journey to be the best versions of ourselves, we are told to not make excuses and to keep pushing. I will be the first to admit that I am one of those people. I strongly believe in pushing my body to its limits and giving my workouts my best effort. That’s all well and good until your body starts to protest because you aren’t giving it what it really needs. On our fitness journeys we eat right, we stay as consistent as humanly possible,we take our vitamins we do what we think is best. We often forget that one of the best things we can do is let our bodies rest, let them recover from us pushing the limits. Now I’m not perfect. I will be the first person to tell you that this is a struggle for me. I truly struggle to take time away from the gym, to let my body rest. I took two says off because I hadn’t taken an actual rest day since the beginning of this 92 day challenge. I was working out 7 days a week and having what I called “active” rest days. Y’all my body was screaming for rest and I was ignoring it like we sometimes ignore that check engine light in our cars. Please don’t ignore your body. Listening when it says take a break could prevent serious injury in the long run. My point in all this: Push yourself Don’t make excuses BUT Give your body the chance to recover. Evolution of my mile. When I first started I honestly could not run straight through for the whole 10 minutes. I did 1 minute running/jogging which was at 4.5 speed and walking at 3.0 speed. As time progressed I got better and better and I can now run straight through for more than 15-20 minutes at 5.5-6.0 speed. This morning I planned on walking to work. A mix of lame excuses and legitimate excuses prevented me from actually doing it. This evening I planned on going to the track and doing sprints. But I felt exhausted and defeated after work, and I did not go. On my lunch, I planned on taking a brisk walk. I really just wanted a nap and a bagel. I compromised by giving in and having a bagel, but I also walked two miles. So while I did slack on my exercising, and I did give into temptation and had a bagel, I was still within my calorie goals, and I at least got some form of exercise. So maybe I didn’t lose. Tomorrow though.
