Meet Sally, First Breath’s newest massage therapist. Sally joins the team with an extensive tool kit focused in the natural health industry - Diploma of Applied Science (Naturopathy) completed in 1999.
More recently Sally has been brushing up on her massage therapy skills and is a great fit for servicing the clients who attend the Fremantle treatment room as she has a deep passion for nurturing the women within her local community.
Living in Fremantle, Sally enjoys ocean swimming, Yoga and Pilates, reading, cooking good food for her family and walking her two mischievous dogs.
Sally services the clients from First Breath Wellbeing’s Fremantle treatment room on Wednesdays from 9am to 5pm and every second Friday afternoon from 12 until 4pm. .

Normal medical reference ranges are the average ranges of the general population and have very little to do with optimal health and longevity. ⠀
Today’s “average population” is sick, fat, and unhealthy. As our population becomes more dysfunctional and obese and suffers from more cardiovascular and autoimmune disease, the “normal” reference range gets wider and wider. How silly is this? In many cases, medical reference ranges are created using populations that contain a significant number of unhealthy individuals, leading to ranges that don’t reflect a healthy population in today's society.⠀
Most people wait until it is too late to start monitoring their health. Waiting until you are sick is like only changing the oil in your car when the check engine light comes on. This lack of attention to maintaining the function of your “car” creates expensive future problems, such as engine failure. ⠀
Adopting a regular health monitoring strategy to stay healthy will always take less time and cost you less money than it would deal with a chronic illness or an engine breakdown.⠀
When conventional medical physicians review your blood test results, their only concern is when a particular result is outside the “normal” reference range because values outside of the normal range help them identify and diagnose disease states, tissue changes, and pathology. ⠀

They are one of my favourite vegetables. Actually I like all vegetables haha!
I’ve been making Eggplant Parmajana since I was a young girl, I’m 41 now soooo that’s a long time. It use to be a signature dish for when guests came over or as my Friday evening or weekend delight meal. Eggplant parmy with chips (baked / roasted sliced sweet potato) and a salad packed with olives.
Did you know that Eghplant has great health benefits of Polyphenols which have been shown to have anti-cancer effects.
Anthocyanins and chlorogenic acid protect cells from damage caused by free radicals and, in turn, prevent tumor growth and the invasion and spread of cancer cells.
The Dietary fibers in the eggplant are also recognized as important factors in weight management and loss, because they act as "bulking agents" in the digestive system, keeping you feeling fuller longer, how awesome is that and it’s from a real live wholefood not a “Diet Pill or Meal Suppressment pill”
Eggplants have a high water content with almost no cholesterol or fat and are a source of vitamin C, vitamin K, magnesium, phosphorus, copper, dietary fiber, folic acid, potassium, and manganese. So many great health benefits from one gorgeous coloured vegetable.
Add it to your curries, soups, or roasted veggie salad mix.
Tonight it’s a taste of Italian for me as I make my eggplant parmigiana with homemade tomato garlic sauce and a raw salad and my sweet potato chips.

Honestly....being on a treadmill for longer than 5 minutes is HARD to ME.
I love so many types of exercise, but when it comes to the treadmill, I’d much rather be outside....
so that’s what I tend to do,
go for walks out in nature instead, taking it all in or listening to a podcast.
Don’t feel you have to do the things others are doing,
exercise can be so many things, cardiovascular exercise IS very important for our heart and lung health,
our joints, our circulation & getting a nice endorphin release,
but you needn’t torture yourself with things you really don’t enjoy or that cause you injuries.
I’ve not run for quite some time, despite enjoying it (outside) it’s not for me right now, and that’s cool ✌🏻 There’s many other things I can do that don’t aggravate certain ailments.
You are much more likely to stay consistent if you find something that feels ok to you & works with your body in a safe & effective way.
YES sometimes we need to do things we don’t really like, to get the end result,
but make sure you check or your options along the way.

Generally, I’ve always been a pretty confident, no fucks given kinda girl when it comes to myself and my body. When people ask me about my self love or body positivity ‘journey’ I often think well…I don’t feel like I have that much of a journey. It’s just how I’ve always been and how I was raised and I put it down to mindset, parenting and a pretty damn lucky life. But as a vocal teacher, a fashion business owner, an aunty and a woman in general, I also sometimes think I should have more advice to offer in this realm as I fully understand and see every day how important it is to shaping the young women in this world we live in.
But then I think, no…I do understand and I do have something to offer. I do remember the pressures that are put on young girls to look and act a certain way. Yes, I may have never cared that much about it, but I saw it happen. I do know that, no matter how confident you are, we all have those days where you catch yourself in a reflection or see a photo taken of you and think…ugh.
This photo was one of those for me. It was a fleeting thought and completely unreasonable, but the thought was there. It’s from a photoshoot I did with my photographer brother on the weekend and when I first saw it I thought about how the chunky knit did odd things for my shape, how there are lumps where there aren’t ‘supposed’ to be lumps and how I’m standing on an odd angle. My second thought? Fuck that. I love that jumper and that dress, I love my curves, I like my hair and I felt good that day 🤷
I think the best advice I can give to anyone as far as self love goes is to stop worrying about what you think everyone else is thinking. Chances are they aren’t thinking it at all. Chances are you’ve exaggerated all your so called ‘flaws’ in your mind and no one else is even noticing the things you are. And if they are…who even cares? Think about how you feel, do and wear what makes you feel good and focus on pleasing yourself instead of everyone else around you. I promise you will be happier for it.

It has happened, I did it, I drove my daughter to school in my PJs, no bras, and my dressing gown. Ok, I pulled my dressing gown down so you couldn’t see it because it is fluffy pink but it happened. On the way to school, we saw down the road at our local paddock a couple of kangaroos having a box. My daughter thought it was super cute, I thought it was kind of ironic because that’s exactly how my morning felt. I felt like I just spent the morning in the boxing ring with my 7-year-old. When I got home from school drop off I was shattered I flicked a quick message to my partner saying frozen leftovers for dinner and something along the lines of, I give up today. Once I wallowed in my self-pity of period pain, a messy house, a baby that refused to self-settled I took a shower and regained some focus….aka reapplied my oils.
For two days straight I have been wearing and loving the new Magnolia essential oil touch, it is so exquisite and precious. Resting is more than a series of activities that you do, it’s a state of being. Consciously practice slowing your body and mind down. Practice presence and savoring the perfection of moments.
You can do this when sitting in traffic, waiting in line, taking a shower, or doing the dishes. .
Life is really a miraculous and wondrous thing and if we don’t practice seeing it, we miss so much.
I shot this video in April when I was visiting my mom and stepdad on Samos. Give me a book, a great view, nature, and a cat and I’m a happy girl! (Even better if my man is with me.) .

There's so much grey. So much fucking context to this "industry/movement & I am so bored of hearing 2 extremes from people that ostracise & exclude. Both sides make me feel "less than" Sorry "they" don't make me feel it, I am triggered by things I am hearing.
"I don't get why people think I'm shaming people that diet?" I've read several times.
I don't think anti diet ambassordors intentionally shame people that do want to lose fat.
I think what they want to do is bring our attention to this culture that is in all intense & purposes. Fucked up.
They want to show you another way. That we have been brain washed. That why we want the things we want, is part of a bigger, fucked up industry than we can imagine.
They are not tryin to shame you/us. They are trying to shame the culture. We need this.
But personally, it feels like I do everytime I walk past Brixton station & hear the man yelling at me down the mic about God & "my" sins.
I never feel welcomed by this man's words. I never feel reassured. I never think, ah, I wanna be part of his tribe.
I feel wronged. I feel flustered.
His intensions are pure I'm sure. He wants me to see the error of "my" ways. Or more to the point of the "devil's" ways. We have been led astray.
By the devil of this "fitness" industry.
But metaphorically yellin at me in my feed as I scroll by, jars. .
U asked opinions to why people feel shamed by some of the anti diet peops.
U dont include me.
U dont hear me.
U dont engage with me.
U push me away.
U make it 'seem' like im wrong & u r right.
It feels like a "you" and "us" thing. .
U want more people in the gang?
Get empathetic... not (what seems) smug.
I don't feel the humility in a lot of what I scroll past these days.
I just feel judgement.
I'm sure that says more about me than what it does about "them" .
But I'm not here for fake feels & pretend engagement.
I'm here cos I wanna express "my" self. Not impress "your" selves.
So that's how I feel today.
That's how I've been feeling lately.
That " some" not "all" peops are sharing an amazing message but in a way that pushes me further away.

I had the most wonderful time attending the Rose Ceremony. From the moment I walked in the space, I was greeted by wonderful Gayatri who made sure I am comfortable and started sharing about the Rose Ceremony.
I am no stranger to the energy of the Rose as periodically it has been part of my self care practices and I could really feel Gayatri's deep connection with the Rose medicine that was flowing abundantly all around us. I appreciated immensely how Gayatri opened the space with an invitation to honour where we are, what we experience and what our intention is for the Ceremony, bringing just the right Helpers and Sacred Objects in the space to facilitate the healing.
The Ceremony itself was a truly magical experience and I loved the combination of Gayatri's sound healing with the guided meditation connecting with the Spirit of the Rose. The whole experience brought a lot of insights, a deep release and a great sense of peace with ever so much softness in it. I am deeply grateful for this experience!
