I know most of us reach for our phones the very second we open our eyes, and as such will find this particular tip very very difficult to do.
However, the first 20 minutes of your wake up time should be spent preparing yourself mentally for the day ahead. Take it as your “Load time”
Pray a bit, Go over your goals for the day, meditate.... ⠀⠀
Even computers and phones we reach for take a minute or two to boot. Heck, we all know Dstv takes 4 full minutes to load up the channels!
You can only be at your productive best when you are well rested and mentally prepared. .

Hopefully the saga is coming to an end, after a very long year and a half!! Everyone's heard the saying 'eat like shit, feel like shit', right? We've all experienced feeling sluggish and gross after eating McDonalds or a huge serve of creamy, cheesy pasta, but there's more to that feeling than just regret. Your brain is actually physically connected to your gut by the vagus nerve, and also connected via chemicals called neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters that are produced in the brain control emotions, and your gut can produce neurotransmitters too. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀. One of the most commonly known neurotransmitters in relation to mood is serotonin, which contributes to feelings of happiness. Serotonin is created via a process that involves conversion of the amino acid tryptophan, which is found in plenty of different food options- basically, what you eat can make you happier!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⛹️♀️FOR WELLNESS AND HEALTH, MOVE YOUR BODY!
🤔I decided to use my "negative thoughts" as a target to throw🤾♀️ my medicine ball🏀into. This was a fun exercise, using fitness and getting rid of unwanted negative thoughts at the same time. 👉Doing basic burpees🤸♂️ also gets me closer to greater levels of fitness and wellness. .
🤔Why do I do exercise? Some of my reasons are below.
🤔We know that too many children👧👦 these days are diagnosed with disorders such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Conduct Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Aspergers and Autism. Children are made to sit still 👩💻for hours on end at school and forced to concentrate on what's being taught and not allowed to move about. This is not natural for our bodies or our minds. 😟We also know that many of our senior friends and family suffer from dementia and alzheimers. 🤸♀️The World Health Organisation recommends that children get at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity per day. Most children don't get anywhere near this. 🤸♂️WHO also recommends adults do at least 150 minutes of moderately intensive physical activity per week. 👉If we exercise it improves brain health, increasing our blood flow and oxygen to the brain. It also increases our heart rate and releases many hormones which aid in the growth of brain cells.
These benefits help our brains to work more effectively, aiding in the ability to learn and retain information. It also lifts your mood and ability to feel positive and optimistic. 👉You've got everything to gain by moving your body. Start today, each day you will be one day closer to your fitness goals. 🏋️♀️Your future depends on you!

Living with anxiety is not easy. You feel completely fine, on top of the world and from nowhere it hits you like someone is running you over with a train. My anxiety usually gets triggered by physical symptoms/ being sick: I just have to learn that it’s not dangerous and stressing about it won’t do me any good. So to all of you struggling with anxiety of any kind - Remember, It’s ok to not be ok ❤️ don’t let it ruin your life.

Support. As a female, you are generally more analytical, emotional and tend to be a nurturer to all. We often put everyone else before ourselves, spread ourselves too thinly and conserve no energy to put into our own wellbeing. When you’re a chronic pain sufferer, or have diseases like Endometriosis, this makes taking care of yourself, let alone others, all the harder. Our energy is already less and we are depleted from the smallest of activities. But then the guilt - Italian or otherwise - kicks in because we’re not there the way we wish to be for everyone. And for me, that leads to anxiety. Huge anxiety. I can’t sleep, I have a headache, I’m going to cry and question my value as a person because if I’m not helping others then what good am I? This is where all those people we give our energy to, we need their help. To remind us of our significance, to lend a helping hand, drive us to doctors appointment or sit with us at the hospital or just run to the chemist and buy us thrush cream [please, I’m embarrassed 🤷🏽♀️]. With age, with wisdom and with having a chronic illness I’ve learned, the very hard way, that choosing not to have people in your life anymore is not a failure but it is a step toward valuing yourself. I don’t quite believe in, ‘would they do for you what you did for them?’ because giving should be of the soul. It’s not quid pro quo. But does that person VALUE your giving enough to reciprocate any form of appreciation, to the same extent or otherwise? If the answer is no, then in order to value your health and value those who love and support you in ALL times, it’s okay to say goodbye to those relationships. Stay strong my endo sissies ♥

Let’s be honest for a moment, there are a lot of intentions we set and may never fully attain. Today, I just want to tell you that: that’s okay. Recognizing that there is room for change and growth in your life is crucial in understanding that your goals may alter over time. Be Flexible. -For me, I wasn’t able to meditate everyday. However, I now meditate at least once a week. -My water intake is not nearly as high as it should be; but, I no longer need an alarm to remind me to drink more water. -Practicing Self-Love isn’t always at the top of my daily list, though, I do consider it far more regularly than I did in years past.
This is Growth. 🌱
Although it may be small, these little leaps are just that: leaps. Listening to my mind and body, I fully intend to continue to seek growth and kindness with each day that passes. Look at the goals you have created — the Life you aim to Live. And take today to observe how you have accomplished them, as well as how you can improve on the goals you set in the future. You took the time to create intentions, write them down, and sought them out. This, alone, shows your willingness to be the best version of You.
Here’s a reminder today of all the greatness you have and can do! Not only should you hold yourself accountable, but also remember that you are subject to change and grow every single day.

My name is Alec, employed full time in the airline industry/a husband and father of 3 wonderful kids. Before Herbalife I was tired all the time and super sluggish and never wanting to do anything other than eat and sleep. I met and married Herbalife February 2, 2018 weighing in at 261lbs. In 3.5 months I was able to lose forever 36lbs giving me all of the self confidence and motivation to continue with my journey.
