I hope you all had a wonderful, relaxing weekend. I can't keep myself from posting this because it speaks to my SOUL.
So, this weekend as I shared a couple of days ago - I was invited as a survivor guest speaker by @mountsinaisavi
to a group of over 100 people to share my story. See, I used to be ashamed of my story. Ashamed and guilt were norms for me. As that little girl who DID SPEAK UP and DID report this abuse, was it enough??? Should I have made more noise??? I thought I did the right thing by reporting it...So, I carried this guilt for years because I thought about the many other girls this monster would come in contact with after me! Years past - now I'm a grown woman; he reaches out. His messages are just as vulgar and disgusting as he was and still IS. He didn't know what he just did.... "THEY" didn't know that they did. THEY ACTIVATED THIS BEAST WITHIN.
I will continue to share MY STORY. I don't care who doesn't support me, doesn't believe me. It's not for you to do so. I AM GRATEFUL FOR ALL THE SUPPORT AND LOVE I HAVE RECEIVED. I'm not looking for sympathy either, I'm looking for SUPPORT.
Was birthed from that pain. I now go through life dealing with PTSD. I have to choose everyday, even on my darkest days, to KEEP FIGHTING, TO GET UP AND PUSH FORWARD. When I'm posting for you ladies, I'm really talking to myself. It's my own way of reminding myself that I HAVE WORK TO DO!!!! These young girls who are less fortunate, who don't have the resources or platforms, who may feel pressured to remain silent, who are bullied, who are told not to speak up because of X, Y, Z.... I STAND FOR THEM. So, here I AM.
