When you had plans to be more responsible this off-shift and like, find a new vehicle that’s more practical for living out here, maybe start more seriously looking into grad schools, and figure out how to not be in so much credit card and student loan debt but instead you soak in a sweet ass hot spring until you’re a literal raisin 😬
When the sun goes down
And the band won't play
I'll always remember us this way
Человек, который сошёл с ума
Знает меня наизусть
Видит меня насквозь
Даже при свете дня
И я шепчу: как тебе удалось
Как тебе удалось
Fall came and went way too fast

There are some days where you just want to sleep in. And there are some days when you wake up with a big ray of sunshine peeking through the peephole on your front porch.
It’s okay to sleep in, but on those days when the sun shows up especially bright, it’s best you give the day its due, get up, and get yourself out there.
Would you hike through 40 degrees water for 3.8 miles? 😳 Yeah I didn’t think so! #ExplorewithBre

Climbing away from the river crossing to finish out a long day
"Should you shield the canyons from the windstorms you would never see the true beauty of their carvings." - Elisabeth Kübler-Ross.
We're going to get a little bit more serious and personal today, so bear with us. We've both experienced death of close loved ones recently, and have had to cope (or are still coping) with these events in our own individual ways.
The author of this quote, Elizabeth Kübler-Ross, was the first person to discuss the theory of the five stages of grief. And when she wrote her book "On Death and Dying," she was using this quote in reference to suffering, and how suffering helps shape us into the people we are today.
She was referencing what we all know: that canyons and other various formations (like the one pictured in our photo today) are created from windstorms and powerful weather. And therefore, if you somehow found a way to prevent these storms from happening, the stunningly beautiful formations that they create would not exist.
The metaphor in life, and of which Elizabeth Kübler-Ross was initially speaking, is that without many of the sometimes horrible curveballs that life throws our way, we would not experience the personal changes that we often go through when these things happen. She was saying that we must not be unwilling or afraid to accept change in our lives because it's in this way that we grow.
So just remember: sometimes life is shitty, and unfortunately tragedy is inevitable. But the ways in which we deal with tragedy can add complex beauty to our being. Oh, and it's also totally okay (and healthy!) to see a therapist or doctor to help you deal with these things - hooray for mental wellness!
Love you all, and have a fabulous weekend!

Hair flip goals. There’s nothing better than camping and waking up in Moab!
“Sometimes I need
only to stand
wherever I am
to be blessed.”
- Mary Oliver
Dost thou dare to follow the Trail to the foreboding weather on the horizon? With Truffles at your side, of course!
This is a blurry pic that my 9yo took of me and I love it so much!
Life is so short, SO short!
We waste so much time and energy worrying about things we can’t control and that, at the end of the day, won’t make or break us.
Let’s make an effort to appreciate what matters:
Protecting our Earth!
Share in the comments what else you want to focus on appreciating.
And have a great weekend doing so.
Esta é uma foto desfocada que minha filha de 9 anos tirou de mim e eu amo tanto!
A vida é curta, TÃO curta!
We had a great time in Moab this past week. It’s hard to come home. Got quite a few pics to sort through.
My favorite place with my favorite person. 😊💕
I’ve got a @zeisscameralenses
16-35mm f 4 lens that I pretty much only use for video. Then I remember how much I love taking pictures through it 🏜
There are times when life throws you a curveball and it hits you in the face. You make plans and they get shattered by circumstances that are beyond your control. Heartache and disappointment are a common part of life, but we don’t have to suffer. I am currently going through an abrupt and disappointing change. To the old me this would be devastating, but to the new me I am looking for the bright side and adjusting my sails for a new course. Over the past five years I have learned how to overcome huge obstacles and turn them into advantages that benefit my personal and my spiritual growth. My current mantra is, “Everything works out to my advantage in service of my highest greatest good.” I can’t tell you how often this expression has steered me away from negative thinking and shifted me back into a high vibration. If you are going through a difficult time, have faith that life will get better. I’ll be sharing more tips like these in my future book about “Resilience” and how to overcome anything.✨ I’m on the road crossing through the heartland of America. Saturday’s blog has been post poned as a result until next week. Thanks for understanding and have a beautiful weekend 🤗
