I took some time to finally edit photos from a recent trip to India, and I've published the first of a series of travel albums on my insta stories. This set goes from the Sundarbans to Kolkata to Varanasi. Let me know what you think!

Today’s post is going to be a little different than our usual travel pics.
A big part of Kolkata and the people of Kolkata is the love for fish.
It is truly a part of the Bengali identity. So much so that there’s a joke that if you cannot identity a good quality fresh fish by touching, seeing and smelling it at a fish market you are not truly a Bengali! 🙂
This fish market in Maniktala is one of the many in the city. You can find fish of different shape, size and taste here.
And it’s not a curated supermarket fish buying experience. You choose your fish - often alive and always fresh. You choose the way they need to be cleaned and cut and you take it home. It’s really like a sacred ritual!
Have you ever been to a fish market?
Tell us what you think in the comments. 🙂
