Claudia Grevsmuehl was one of the participants of the last Blue Bank accelerator. She came to work on a children's book about an Icelandic sheep that doesn't want to live in Iceland anymore. It's tired of the constant light in the summer and the dark winters so it tries to escape to England where the Queen of Sheep lives!
. "During this accelerator I hope to make as many illustrations as I can and perhaps get some publishing ideas. It has been very helpful to spend time at a place away from my everyday distractions" said Claudia.
"Many say that photographing Iceland is an easy task because of all the stunning landscapes. As far as this might be true to an extent, the nature paired with our rich culture and heritage is something that can inspire to explore many new and different angles of experiencing Iceland.
Westfjords are a great example of that, where history of the locations adds another level to the rugged terrain and endless fjords. The northernmost village Bolungarvík and the Ósvör museum for example has been a fishing port since settlement, giving an insight into rough life out on the ocean. The natural hot pools in the middle of a remote fjord allow for relaxation in the most unexpected moment. The only windmill with a long history standing on a picturesque island surrounded by seals taking rest in sun." By @thechrishau

"With temperatures as low as zero degrees celsius i wouldn't mind chilling in this hot pot right now"
We spent most of our time in Iceland exploring the Westfjords, and the scenery and lighting there were on just another level. It almost made southern Iceland feel a bit bland when we got back to Reykjavik. I just wish I could have captured it on camera.
The Westfjords in Iceland are a special region. To describe this region in a few words I would say: Rough, Massive, Endless 🇮🇸
