6 silly things I miss about the U.S. on the blog today. ❤️
Talking all about our trip to Vlore on the blog today- with budget breakdown included. This is the first in my, “with kids” series. Coming soon I’ll be detailing our trips to Cinque Terre, Venice, Paris, Neuschwanstein castle, Ireland, Scotland, Gruyere, Switzerland, and England with kids. Any specific one that you’d like to see first? Also, do you like a budget breakdown?... or not really. Happy Thursday, friends. It’s almost the weekend!
A little Disney photo magic! Can I say I love photopasses - especially at Disney. I love not having to carry around a camera and there are always photographers there to snap a shot.

On a scale of one to drunk, I’m pretty sure every bystander thought I was a hard ‘not sober’ riding this children’s ride. I can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard. Santa’s Village in Bracebridge (Muskoka) is a kid’s dream land, and as it turns out, I have the amusement level of an eight year old. Have you been? Such a hoot if you’re ever in ‘cottage country.’
What are some ways your kids have surprised you in unexpected ways while traveling?
Machu Picchu was a long day, we had our ups and downs, but overall I was amazed with our toddler. He loves trains 🚂, buses and all vehicles so I expected those to be his highlights. .
While he enjoyed the trains and buses, I was so happily surprised at his interest in Machu Picchu itself. He liked seeing the llamas. He loved the "little houses" and sitting in the windows. We carried him in a toddler carrier most of the time, but he still climbed many of the uneven stairs himself. He loves saying "Machu Picchu" now, and he says he wants to go back! #proudtravelmama
⛔️🚙❌ A car free day! Do your cities have it? We think it’s great! Once a year the inner city of Stockholm is closed to car traffic. Instead two main streets are filled with food trucks, street basket, kids are drawing on the ground, people can learn how to dance and much more. Love it! #istanutanminbil #carfreeday #stockholm #sweden #city
Rainbow Beach was 🙌🏼 .
This past week all I have wanted to do was sell up, pack up, and hit the road and dodge all responsibilities 😂🤷🏼♀️ too bad caravans are so expensive ! .
Anyone else want to do a lap of Australia but can’t ? 🙋🏻♀️
New York is loud. New York is crowded. New York is crazy. New York is definitely not stroller friendly. Yet, New York can totally be a kid friendly destination.
Our trip to New York was to catch up with friends visiting the city from South Africa and Philadelphia. For this visit we were less interested in city landmarks, attractions and museums. We wanted time to catch up with friends in an enjoyable setting. With this in mind, we planned the kids’ activities around playgrounds in neighborhoods we wanted to hang out in.
Overall we had a great weekend in New York that was relatively stress-free. Because we weren’t trying to pack it all in and took a slower pace, we could soak in the neighborhoods and most importantly spend quality time with the friends we came to see.

Quick reminder that jet lag is no joke with kids. My method as an adult is, ‘stay awake as long as you can and try to beat it.’ Works a charm for us, but as you can see here, not so much with the kiddies. Tips?
Do all the best cities have rivers? But do they do their bridges like Paris? I don't know...
✨The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever. ✨ Jacques Yves Cousteau
Which body of water has cast its spell on you? Many have for me, but the Ionian Sea has us positively bewitched.
Our double stroller, or rather the cuteness inside, is very popular in Italy. We usually get aaaws and ooohs, sometimes a whoops or a woow. Italians are fond of babies, going out of their way to make us feel comfy and welcome❤️ #100
🇨🇿 Nase holky jsou mistni celebrity. Tolik obdivu, nakouknuti, sislani, a opicek. Italove maji deti v oblibe, nevadi jim kocarky v ceste, drobky na stole, a trochu kriku k tomu. Spis naopak👍 #prodetivsechno

Roadschool education: We made it to Big Four Ice Caves in Washington! They start out as avalanches from winter snow that falls on the high cliffs above and slide off, compacting into small glaciers. Each ice cave has a huge waterfall behind it. In late summer/early fall, the water and heat starts melting away at the glaciers and forms openings - Ice Caves! Check out our stories to see how strong the wind was blowing out through the Caves!⠀
As tempting as it is, never enter even the most outer portion of any ice cave. They are fragile and in a melting stage. They can, and do, collapse suddenly, without warning, and crush anyone underneath. Many people have died here, including an 11-year-old girl whose devastated family placed a plaque in honor of her memory. It’s heartbreaking to think about.⠀
The hike is a fairly easy 1- mile there and 1-mile back. It can be extremely dangerous when ice still covers the ground, especially going to the 4th cave. There is absolutely no cell phone service, so an emergency of any kind would be very difficult to deal with. Enjoy but be safe out there!⠀

The view from the top of Kanine castle in Albania is incredible! Straight out to the Ionian Sea. It’s hard to wrap my mind around the walls being here since the 3rd century B.C. We were the only tourists there. There was an Albanian family having a picnic and they seemed genuinely perplexed as to what this weird American family was doing there. So much of the country is this way. Vastly untouched by tourism. There’s just so much history, and an endless amount of beauty to explore.
Chasing waves - sometimes it is a challenge trying to tame our energetic team but lucky us we got the space and time to share and as long as there is a wave to chase, a ball to throw or a hill to climb we‘ll find a way to positively spend our energy 😄
They love a good race🏃🏽♂️🏃🏽♂️
Last minute decisions to go to the beach are the best 🤷🏼♀️🌈🌊 How good is this spring weather ?! .
What are you guys up to this weekend ?
