Four years ago @aylanereo
and I connected on the playa and dusty morning at camp and talked for hours about dolphins, whales, and the magic of Hawai'i. I found myself asking her on the spot if she'd want to come teach with me on island even though I had all my facilitators lined up for that year.
Two months later, I was in a Kundalini Yoga practice when the words ANCIENT VOICES kept repeating in my mind and I started speaking them like a mantra throughout my practice. It hit me, this is a retreat combining learning from the wisdom of nature and the wild, with embodied movement, and vocal release.
I felt a sense of urgency in the vision, and reached out to Ayla right away curious if she'd jump in as co facilitator for the first retreat. I received an immediate an resounding YES.
It was November then, and the retreat was set for February. I remember thinking there's not enough time, and I already have another retreat that hasn't sold out yet, but I kept following the undeniable pull to organize this retreat.
Three months later, we had our first sold out Ancient Voices Retreat in Hawai'i. I was amazed by how perfectly Ayla and I's offering flowed together. I felt as though she teaches voice the way I teach movement, and felt the power in combining our work and our voices. We've taught 2 other sold out retreats since, with over 100 people journeying with us over the years.
This year is the final year that Ayla and I will offer this retreat together. I feel it as a celebration of all the deep work of past years, as well as a welcoming of the magic that wants to unfold now.
If you've been wanting to join us, this might be your year. Reply YES to this post for more info, or apply for partial scholarship via the link in our bio. 📸 by @molliehull
