WHAT IS YOUR BODY MASS INDEX (BMI). #BMI
basically helps one to know if he or she has a health body weight. A person's susceptibility to non communicable diseases is greatly dependant on his or her BMI.
There are categories and based on your results, we can say that you are healthy or unhealthy.
*underweight (> 18.5)
*healthy weight (between 18.5 - 25).
*overweight (≥25 - 29.9).
*obese (≥30 - we also have grade 1 besity, grade 2, grade 3)
*morbid (≥40 - highly susceptible & death). To calculate BMI, we need your weight, height and sometimes age, sex if it's being calculated electronically or using the designed software.
Let's do it the simple way where we need weight & height.
BMI = weight(kg/m(2)/height in cm.
So, Akosua has a weight of 55kg and a height of 159cm, her BMI = 55/(1.59×1.59, convert cm to meters).
Akosua's BMI = 55/2.5281 = 21.755kg/m(2).
Tracking 21.755 from the categories, you clearly can see that, Akosua has a healthy BMI... Akosua is healthy and at a lower risk of non communicable diseases.
