Happy Thursday all! Congrats to everybody who has already started the academic year. For those of you going into your final year of Sixth Form or College I’ve got a little post for you on choosing your perfect University like I did!
I had so much help from my sixth form @durhamsixthformcentre
in picking a University, even though I didn’t go straight into further education in the end. Make the most of all your Sixth Form/Colleges talks and programmes to get as much information as you can! Alternatively use a site like @whatuni
to compare your choices or @unibuddy_
to ask current students what it’s like to study at the University you’re looking at.
If you haven’t already go on an Open Day! @newcastleuni
are holding an Open Day on the 15th of September which I will be working-see you all there!
I’d also recommend making a list of all the different things you need to consider such as cost of living, course, social life, other opportunities, accommodation etc and then decide what things are most important to you. So if you want a University that is campus based it may be worth choosing it even if it lacks, say, a gym on campus.
Good luck with your final year and feel free to share this with anybody who is currently doing their UCAS application!
