Had a lunch at Heros West in Joliet, IL. Ate their Cuban sandwich and fries. Not the most amazing Cuban, but not bad for the price. Their craft beer selection is pretty decent. Drank a Abita Purple Haze and a 3 Floyd's Gumballhead. The purple haze was as little underwhelming even for a pilsner. Gumballhead is a wheat that wants to be an IPA, with a heavy hop bitterness. I was into it though as a lover of IPAs.

We are delighted that the two beers we entered in to the @tasteofthewestflc awards each won an award. Hop Drop, 4.5%, pale ale, was awarded ‘Gold’ and has been put forward to the next round of judging for top ‘Gold’ winners. And our American Wheat Beer, S'Wheat, 4.3%, won ‘Silver’.
Had an unplanned day in Charlotte after weather had me miss my connection. Can't complain because it gave me a chance to try the Ginger Wheat at @unknownbrewing I was impressed with how well the ginger flavor melded with the profile of the wheat beer.
Microphone Fiend— hoppy session wheat. A lot of learning done with this beer-tastes great for bitter beer lovers but next time we’ll lower the #amarillo in the boil and increase the #citra in the dry hop. Still super happy with it and looking forward to playing with the recipe in the future
Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales | La Roja with Boysenberry and Guava | Flanders Red Ale
It was always a toss-up between La Roja and Maracaibo as my favorite @jollypumpkin beers and now they made La Roja with boysenberry and guava! The aroma has a strong berry and sour presence and the taste consists of tart citrus notes, it is a little malty and a small hint of berry sweetness. I cannot tell whether I like the regular La Roja more or this one, they are both delicious!! #iDrinkSoMuchBeer
