“151 rum, pineapple juice, and malibu, caribou get them all numb” A collaboration of epic proportions tonight between Boulevard and Tech N9ne from Kansas City with @boulevard_beer Bou Lou Wheat Beer with Pineapple and Coconut. I’ve been looking for this since I hear they were making it a few months ago and I must say the wait was well worth it. This is one of the more flavorful beers I’ve had in quite some time. You can tell right away when you put your nose in the glass that the flavor is going to be amazing. Pineapple and coconut for days and days. This fully embodies the infamous drink it borrows it’s name from. I’ll sum it up with another quote from Tech N9ne: “I'd like to give a big shout out to caribou Lou cause I'm drinking it, and they ain't paying me for it (not yet hah).”
Style: Wheat/Fruit Beer
Monday’s are always rough but today offered a special twist ending for me that warranted a tasty beer. I’m a straight sucker for raspberry ANYTHING, so I gave this a try. . . . . . .
Location: TORONTO, ON
Name: Kawartha Lakes KLB Raspberry Wheat
IBU: 14 . . . . .
What I think: great raspberry flavour but man this has a real Canadian mouth-feel & aftertaste. Bummer.

• Brewing and Baking • Not that dissimilar. Well. Sort of. Just like a baker every brewer follows their own recipe. They select their ingredients; barley, oats, wheat, rye, hops. Maybe some flavouring; fresh fruit, spices, coffee, vanilla. You bake together (well...boil...but temperature and timings important!). You let cool. Then -and most importantly - you get to the good bit, taste! Maybe that’s why beer and cake go so well together. My homemade choc orange cupcakes ain’t half a bad pairing to compliment blue moon - both are brewed/baked with orange. Blue moon’s also brewed with wheat rather than what you may expect from your typical pilsner/lager style which are usually barley based. Wheat beers can work really, really well with desserts (and cake!) as they tend to be creamy and sweet to taste. If you’re like me and have a sweet tooth skip the dessert wine and grab a wheat beer. And cake. Always grab a cake 🍰 🍻

Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales | La Roja du Kriek | Sour Amber Ale
Another take on their classic La Roja beer, this one with cherry juice added, is another delicious addition! Cherries, woody, and a tart lemon flavor finish - it's a great Sunday beer! #iDrinkSoMuchBeer@jollypumpkin
