Throwback to #graffiti
from SLC back in ... probably 2010 or 2011. I moved there on my birthday in 2009 and had a hard time at first with the culture shock (you all know I came to LOVE SLC, but it took time!). The graffiti felt like there was this whole secret underground all around me, resisting the oppressiveness of the Zion grid (the plat is the Mormon Zion). It was kind of magical. And yes, there was that underground, but I also fell hard for the not-underground. I walked both of those worlds and loved it. I miss SLC everyday. I’d go back in a heartbeat. I’m afraid I’ll never feel that at home again. .
