Evening walk though Wilkes Street Cemetery Complex...13 cemeteries make up this interesting panoply of grave markers and headstones of Alexandria residents for over the past 200 years. Austere Colonial-era headstones gave way to stones bearing carvings with religious or fraternal meaning. Tall obelisks and life-size statues of angels appeared in the mid and late 19th-century, followed by the smaller, more uniform headstones of the 20th century.

We went to go check out the old "haunted house" about a mile from where we live. I've always thought it was spooky looking, but it was only today that I heard of the history behind the house. Legend has it that a man killed his wife and kids in the house, and there have been alleged hauntings being reported ever since then. We decided to go explore the property, but most of the windows are boarded up. While it is a rather cool looking house (as most old houses are), we didn't come across any ghosts, unfortunately 👻🤷🏻♀️
