Every year around this time I brace myself for the DREADED cold and flu season. Accepting the fact that (like everyone else) I am going to get sick whether it’d be a stomach bug or a constant cough that’s going to last a month. Not to mention the shit tonne of money I spend every year on quick fixes to get rid of the problem. I’m talking day and night relief, vitamin c tablets, throat sprays, vapid rubs, you name it. .
But NOT this year!!!! With these little capsules I am getting 20-30 different varieties of fruits, veggies, and berries to supplement my diet. They are picked at their peak ripeness, blended, freeze dried, than encapsulated to stop them from oxidizing and losing their nutrients. I am getting proper nutrition my body needs to ensure I don’t get sick this year. .

It's been an amazing 12 weeks with our Fall Body Smarts Mamas. It was so nice to be able to get to celebrate with some of them with a little meal out! We couldn't be prouder of all the hard work all these ladies (and the rest that couldn't make it) put in!
That isn’t the most appetizing egg, but I made something new for breakfast today.
• 1/2 sweet potato🍠
• 1 small yellow onion
• 1/4 of a medium green bell pepper
• 1 full sized carrot🥕
• 1 over easy egg🍳
• Seasoned with black pepper, red pepper flakes, and sriracha

Me encanta el falafel, pero reconozco que me ha costado pillarle el punto perfecto de sabor y textura. Esta receta es 💣 ¡lo más! Te digo, me entran ganas de hacer tandas y tandas para tenerlas en la nevera.
Consejos: utiliza garbanzos crudos, el sabor será mucho más intenso. Ponlos en remojo durante toda la noche y listo. Cilantro 🌱 que no te de miedo, se que no es el favorito de todo el mundo pero le dará un toque expectacular.
Ingredientes: - 1 cup garbanzos crudos (3 cup ya hidratados). - 3 dientes de ajo. - 1 puñado de cilantro. - 1 puñado de kale. - 1/2 cebolla. -1/4 cup de pan rallado. - 2 tsp levadura química. - 1/4 tbsp de: comino / sal / pimentón dulce
- 1/2 tbsp de: mostaza molida / semillas de apio molidas* (opcional) - Pimienta negra.
Paso a paso:
🌱 Deja en remojo los garbanzos durante mínimo 8; a la mañana siguiente lavarlos bien y reservar. 🌱 En el procesador de alimentos añadimos: cilantro, kale, ajo, cebolla. 🌱 Triturar bien. 🌱 Añadimos los garbanzos hidratados (ver foto 3). 🌱 Triturar hasta crear una masa homogénea. 🌱 Poner la mezcla en un bowl y añadir las especias, la levadura y el pan rallado. 🌱 Mezclar con la ayuda de una cuchara de madera. 🌱 Cubrir con papel transparente y dejar reposar en la nevera mínimo 1h *yo lo deje 3h porque no tenía tiempo. 🌱Precalentar el horno a 180°C 🌱 Dale forma a la masa, y coloca las piezas en papel de hornear con un chorrito de AOVE por encima. 🌱 Hornear durante 30'. 🌱 Pasado ese tiempo le damos la vuelta, y horneamos por otros 15'. 🌱 ¡A disfrutar!

spicy Brussels spouts (SO good!), blueberries, and a fried egg on Dave’s killer bread “21 whole grains and seeds” toast 🍳
for the Brussels sprouts I used sriracha, honey, garlic powder, and soy sauce
I love Dave’s bread because it’s packed with whole grains and seeds + 5g of fiber per slice
grains are important sources of many nutrients, including fiber, B vitamins (thiamin, riboflavin, niacin and folate) and minerals (iron, magnesium and selenium)
dietary fiber from whole grains, as part of an overall healthy diet, helps reduce blood cholesterol levels and may lower risk of heart disease
fiber is important for healthy bowel function and helps reduce constipation
total dietary fiber intake should be 25 to 30 grams a day from food, not supplements

I’ve had several conversations lately about Mindful Eating with clients. This is a big topic! .
Truth-We often eat for many reasons other than hunger- we are trying to fill emotional needs. .
This is why I try to assess this with clients right off the bat.
If you are doing it frequently it will sabotage your weight loss efforts. This is why I tell people they need to address this need to emotional eat before working on the behavior change. . If you find you’re constantly stressed and looking for food to relieve his stress it’s time to find a healthy way to channel this stress.
Only once you address this can you be successful with long term weight loss.
That said we all eat for emotional reasons on occasion. If it’s ever so often you grab some chocolate for comfort and you’re managing your weight successfully then it’s not a problem. It gets tricky when it’s all the time and a way to escape your problems.

recipe, using my own homemade 10 min strawberry jam:
• add a heap of frozen strawberries to a small saucepan w/ a generous drizzle of maple syrup
• simmer on low until fruit is soft and mash w/ a potato masher until desired consistency
• cook a couple more min and take off the heat to cool and thicken 👌🏻
