Flowers grow back even after they’re stepped on // Big Sur is always stunning, but it was especially gorgeous this weekend. Hella good times celebrating my birthday - thanks to those who made it special ☺️🙏🏻
Him: “Do something cool. Like a yoga pose.”
Me: “Got it.”
And that’s why I’m trying to be a doctor, not a model 😂
... Its quiet in the desert.
I found myself alone under the temple of the sun. I left the van solo while Jose worked on his laptop. I brought some water and my camera, but left my phone. The desert has always left me with a very solemn mood. There's something about the desolation and stillness that brings out my senses like no where else. I can hear everything, see everything. This isn't a place a person should be. I have a feeling like someone's watching me, but there's no one there. It's just me. Dust is agitated by the wind and settles on my shoes. I feel very in tune with the environment, but also like I should leave.
The hustle and bustle of Yosemite seems obsurd in a place like this. 20+ miles down a dirt road there are no garbage trucks or car alarms. Buildings would seem out of place here. This is not a place to make home.
I rarely want to go to the desert. I'm drawn to the mountains or ocean nearly every weekend. Those places are easy. It's so obvious what to do. The desert takes time to digest. It needs to be taken in slowly. When I am called to the desert it's strong. I don't know why I want to go. Maybe I need to find myself or perhaps I've seen the movie Rango one too many times. •

Tonight’s sunset was fire 🔥
when in doubt just add sprinkles 🌈
The Golden Gate Bridge blazing in the golden light just before sunset..
Drizzly, foggy, ferny forest. Feels like home 🌿😊
Going through some photos from a couple months ago and spotted this one from Kings Canyon and proceeded to stare at all the details for some time. From the ribbons of light-colored stone (monzonite?) traversing the face, to its cloud-covered craggy peak, it epitomizes to me the grandeur of the Sierra. Man, I need to spend more time in this range!
Because the greatest part of a road trip isn’t arriving at your destination. It’s all the wild, spontaneous stuff that happens along the way. 🚐🛣💙
📍Death Valley National Park, California 🇺🇸
“Winter,” as it’s called, out in California. Missing the color green these days, along with the rolling, magic hills of Tamalpais in particular...
Life is short, so forgive quickly, love truly, believe wholeheartedly, laugh uncontrollably and never avoid anything that makes you smile 🙏

Weekend getaways are the best 😍 I'm lucky to live in a city where I can be at the desert, mountains, or ocean in just a matter of miles. Where do you like to get away to on the weekends? 🌴
