People come to you as they come to themselves. Similarly, you come to others as you come to yourself.
This concept can be applied to relationships, self-awareness, self-love and acceptance, growth, to so many avenues of life. But what it really means to me, is that people can only be as honest with you as they are with themselves. People can only love you as much as they love themselves. People can only support you as much as they support themselves. I don’t really have a concluding thought to this ramble, other than be mindful. You can’t show up for someone else if you can’t show up for yourself. Be truthful with yourself, accept and love yourself, be kind and supportive to yourself, and watch how your life and your relationships bloom.
Okay one more thought: you teach people how to treat you, how to respect you, and how to love you, by showing them what you will and will not stand for or accept in your life. So don’t accept disrespect from someone else, and if you do, take a moment and notice: do you disrespect yourself? 📸 @thebiglepowski
