365 lbs off of pins!! Definitely a grinder, but glad I got it done. Got a little tiny bit of help in the middle of the help (spotter got nervous, apologized after). But, I still consider this a W. Not to mention, I am officially 10 lbs down from my top bulk weight. Love how things are turning out; just as I planned months ago. AND, just finished my first semester of my Master’s program! For me it only ever started out as a source of extra training for my track & field and do something different to running around in circles. Than it became more for socializing with like minded people and than I began to realize how much there was to learn about your health and fitness. - - - It’s crazy to think throughout my whole schooling life I wanted to be a Midwife or Veterinarian and all that changed when I walked into a Crossfit gym. #NoRegrets
👣Strengthening the Foot💪
This week we have been talking about the tiny muscles in our feet helping disperse load off of the plantar fascia, in particular the flexor digitorum brevis. Give this toe drill a try to get a solid foot pump!
Make a tripod with the foot then lift the big toe up while keeping the last 4 toes down. Then switch keep the big toe down while you lift up the last 4 toes. Maintain the tripod and don't turn the foot to get the toes up. This exercise can be very challenging to start so don't get frustrated! #thefirmfriday #plantarfasciitis #thefirm

You should not have to ask other people what your weaknesses are. You already know what you struggle with. Do one little thing each day to work on your weaknesses
If YOU want to move in the right direction, YOU have to work on the areas that you do not normally focus on. Yes, we will always have a weakness, but trying to improve them daily will help turn those weak areas into strong areas!! WIN THE DAY!

I push myself pretty damn hard. Yeah, there are times I want to quit. But I quickly realized that wasn't for me. ..
I have so many projects going right now. ..
On my business.
On my personal self.
On building good relationships. ..

Just like riding my bicycle home this morning from the gym, they are redoing the road by my house and building it up in layers. Which means they have to wet it down and pack it. Yes, there is a couple inch layer of soft mud on top. ..
In order to make it through the mud unscathed, I have to keep in the peddles (just like a dirtbike, stay in the gas). Do not slow down! Keep pushing, let the bike work under you and keep peddling!!! It can get squirrelly but stay in it until you get to the other side of the mud!
This morning I made it through the mud because I kept going. ..
Life is the same way. Keep pushing to get to the other side!
4 years ago I got the best trainer (@theblackpope_3
) and learned how to train with weights. I haven’t looked back or missed a workout since. I started out being more into running and then my awesome friend @bigz1217
encouraged me to try out powerlifting in 2017. I did put on extra weight last year but @strongman_dan
helped me get that back under control and maintain strength. And is now helping me prep for my first sanctioned meet. I think back to all the amazing friends and family that I have met just from lifting. Before I lifted I came out of a physically/emotionally abusive relationship and ate food and didn’t care about how I looked. I had lost so much control of my life and was hurting. Food felt like a security blanket. Overall I just felt defeated. Weights felt like something I could control and take out any happy, sad, angry, etc emotions out on. There is only so much we can control in our life, but how we take care of ourselves is one of them. If we take care of ourselves first, we can take care of the people around us better. I definitely can say that lifting weights has changed me way more than just physically. I genuinely look forward to each rep and set that I do and walk away from a workout feeling emotionally and physically stronger than before. My motivation was definitely Roan. I asked myself if that is how I would want my child to treat herself. We only get one body, so we have to treat it right. I can’t wait to see what another 4 years does for me.
