Maria, Angeles, and Samira are wonderful ladies and cooks from Venezuela, Mexico, and Palestine representing @flavoursofhope
, a social enterprise that empowers women from different countries to earn income and share their love of cooking with the community they live in coming from different cultural backgrounds ❤️ and I believe there’s no better way of doing that other than food (and dance of course) 🍽💃🏻.
I love listening to people’s stories .. I’m always curious to know the why’s and how’ about big changes in their lives .. I’m interested to know their challenges .. so yes I ask questions and listen and eventually make new connections and friends .. this is the highlight of my travels honestly is always meeting new people and connecting with them 😍.
What I love about Canada is its diverse community and acceptance of all kinds of human race no matter what .. and I think this is what makes it truly unique from all the other places I traveled to .. you hear what immigrants have to say about it and most if not all have positive feedback of being welcomed and feeling safe .. and isn’t this what every human need is: safety, security, acceptance, and social connection.
It was lovely to meet you ladies @flavoursofhope
... But back to food now: I had Venezuelan Hallacas and Mexican Flautas for lunch and Ma’amoul for dessert 😋 .. what more could I ask for! I traveled the world while dining in Vancouver 🇻🇪🇲🇽🇸🇩🇨🇦✌🏼😎. #Granville #Vancouver #food #culture #BC #community #women #cooking
