I am not a nomad. All these quotes about life is a journey - Hogwash, I say. .
Like this one attributed to Hemingway, "It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the end." No, thank you. I want to get to my destination and enjoy it to the fullest - have my efforts, sweat and tears experience the exhilaration or a job well done. Ask an Olympic athlete if they'd rather train forever of stand on the podium with a gold. You know what they'd say. .
While there may be good that comes from the journey, today I'm thinking that we've bought into a lie if we agree with that. I can't imagine anything sweeter than knowing I'm in my place, embracing it, owning it, exploring it, experiencing Life there, watch the sun rise and set there, for me to SETTLE there. There can still be growth and contribution once I arrive, maybe even better than what's produced in the journey. .
No, I'm not here to just be on a journey, aimless wandering through life. And while I don't have absolute clarity about where it is or even WHAT it is, my heart is longing for it. I'm living expectantly, anticipating the day I arrive. .
