Repentance is a concept which has held a lot of interest for me recently as I search my soul and question the sin in my life, following a conversation with my friends about true godly sorrow and repentance vs. worldly regret. Unbelievers can and do experience the latter, but only the elect experience the former. While I’m usually an expository Bible study girl, I did a topical study of repentance using the concordance in the back of my journaling Bible. What I learned was hard to swallow. If I live in habitual sin and keep doing it over and over, I may be feeling worldly regret but I am not truly repentant in the way I should be for having sinned against my holy Creator. 2 Corinthians 7:10 says that “godly grief produces repentance leading to salvation, but worldly grief produces death.” The proof of repentance is in that I stop. doing. it. And I cannot do that in my own strength. But Galatians 5:16 says, “Walk in the Spirit and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh.” One teaching that has been detrimental to me here is “If you mess up, it’s okay as long as you’re generally doing better.” No. No it’s not okay, and if you’d say that then you don’t understand how vile sin is and how much it cost Jesus. When you repent and stop sinning, it is wise to stop putting yourself in situations where sin is even an option. And I know how hard that is, but Jesus is stronger than the worst and most ingrained sin habits. It’s not ok to “mess up” and sin, but it *is* okay to be too weak to conquer sin yourself, because Jesus is not too weak. If you’re too weak to even stop putting yourself in opportunities for temptation, then pray and ask Him for strength. His power is made perfect in weakness.

Surrender your heart to God, turn to him in prayer,
and give up your sins— even those you do in secret.
Then you won’t be ashamed;
you will be confident and fearless.
Your troubles will go away like water beneath a bridge,
and your darkest night will be brighter than noon.
You will rest safe and secure,
filled with hope and emptied of worry.
You will sleep without fear and be greatly respected.
But those who are evil
will go blind and lose their way. Their only escape is death!

Trust me when I say that it is possible to live with an intentional fire for God! You don't have to have highs and lows, you don't have to have someone lay hands on you, or pray over you. Fire for God isn't about your goodness, commitment or hard work as a Christian. It comes when we live in the secret place where we are letting Jesus become bigger and bigger in our hearts!
This is how I live my daily life and what has sustained a passion and fire for God in my life your over a decade! You can watch the full video on YouTube the link is in the bio. Xo

➵ Some girls are taking it off
for the follow,
but they don't see
it only makes them more hollow.
The attention makes them
feel a type of way,
then it becomes an insatiable crave.
They go down the slippery slope
finding their worth in numbers
and now they can't cope.
They thought it would fill the void inside,
now they are just on a roller coaster ride.
When it starts to slow down
they don't know what to do,
they've kind of played
someone's else's boo.
A downpour comes on their fun parade,
now they see it was all a charade.
God nudges them once again
and says, "come back to Me my friend."
Tears flood their eyes,
His grace covers all the lies.
God's overwhelming love
showers them again,
wiping away all their sin. ➵ 💛 http://liketk.it/2v3wG #firstname.lastname@example.org#LTKunder25

Every Tuesday I will be sharing another woman serving the Lord in this Instagram space so we can get to know more amazing women running their race for Him!
Today is @kela_nellums of @pursuingwhatisexcellent 🙌🏼 Make sure to leave her some love and encouragement! Let’s be the kind of community that cheers one another on🙌🏼!
Tell us about your ministry, page, business, etc?
I’m the founder/author of my blog, Pursuing What Is Excellent (KelaNellums.com).
Like many others, I started out with it being an online journal of my family’s homeschool journey over 13 years ago.
It has evolved over time to be more of a devotional style blog where I talk about faith, living a Spirit-filled life, motherhood, marriage, and books that I review.
I’ve recently expanded to being very present on Instagram by leading a Bible study and sharing what I learn while reading the Scripture.

Today we are back with Part 4 of our Beauty of Holiness series* on thesmallseed.com! We are chatting with Cara Clark, who opens up with us about when she feels most connected to her authentic self and what she does when she feels a lack of holiness in her life.
Check out a brief excerpt below and use the link in our profile bio to read the full interview!
Who has inspired you to follow a path toward God?
My parents inspired my entire path toward God. I grew up in a family with seven kids and when we prayed, it was on our knees together. I believe that God truly blessed all of us with our faith and commitment to Him and our family. We have been through major life tragedies and became stronger because of all the time spent devoted to Him. We also never missed mass, even when on vacation in non-English speaking countries. My Mom still reminds me when it's a Holy Day and always reminds me to be thankful and having a grateful heart changes your life. — Cara Clark @caraclarknutrition
*We are featuring 7 candid interviews with women of various religious faiths throughout the month. We hope that as you study the scriptures and ponder on the theme of holiness, you will find inspiration in the experiences of these women for how you can seek hoiness in the daily moments of your own life situations.
Your budget is just your financial boundaries that protect you from overspending. Don’t fight the process. Learn to welcome the ability to tell your money where to go SO THAT you keep/grow more of it. #makeyourmoneyone

Today makes 23 years since we have been together and coming up on 17 years married in June. My how time flies. This was my jr prom in high school. I am forever grateful the Father gave me a man as amazing as my love and my best friend. He continues to stretch me beyond my imagination and encourages me to newer heights. I love this man with the love of God for who he is and who he is always becoming.
