One thing that made me fall in love with yoga nidra is how we generally open each guided meditation: ✨ “Welcome home to yourself. All of you is welcome.” ✨ This idea of welcoming every single part of yourself is so powerful and, I think, the only way to feel fully at peace and happy with yourself. ✨ We’ve been taught we need to change ourselves to be happy. But that’s just capitalism at work 🙄 ✨ Our anxieties and fears and self-loathing come from a belief that some or maybe all of us is not good enough. Not lovable, not worthy, not welcomed here. ✨ We feel we don’t belong...we can’t just feel at peace and at home within ourselves. ✨ But the place we always end up after all our fighting against ourselves...all our efforts to be perfect and acceptable...is just letting go and finally welcoming ourselves. Exactly as we are. No changes necessary. ✨ What if there was never anything wrong with you? Just people around you who didn’t know how to welcome you properly into this world. ✨ What if you could set a table and pull out chairs for all the parts of yourself you were taught to bury? From my experience, your medicine and your greatest gifts will be found in those parts of you you have been trying to shun or “improve”. 💜
Something different today... I have set myself a goal to move and stretch more, initially aiming for two sessions a week (stretching / yoga / pilates). I am sure I am not alone when I realise I have flexibility issues and reduced range of movement in certain areas of my body (particularly my hamstrings). Women friends: I’m posting about menstruation because this is important. A friend of mine just had a serious health scare due to Toxic Shock Syndrome. She is on the mend now, thank God! She has been using tampons for nearly 15 years and never had an issue. I’m echoing what she recently said- there are reasons the “non-toxic” tampon brands exist (and Playtex Sport is not one of them 😱). I myself am a huge fan of a product called The Diva Cup. You can look it up, but it is a small menstrual cup made of medical-grade silicone that replaces any tampons and pads. You read that right: ZERO tampons or pads needed. And this product lasts for years. I wouldn’t have even known about it except a girlfriend of mine who is a missionary told me about it a couple years back. And I have been using it ever since. Total Gamechanger. All the women on her team were encouraged to get one since they were traveling for a year and going to remote places where they may not have access to feminine products. Let’s talk women’s hormones and the fact that we all turn into a sloth at “that time of the month”. . Or is that just me? 🙈 I feel like I’m all of a sudden living life in slow motion. I guess because I’m go go go all the time (which is my life and yes I choose this 99% of the time) but when it comes “that” time it’s always on the weekend and I always think WHY CANT THIS BE DURING THE WEEK! 🤣 #kidfreetime . Us mums of toddlers don’t always have the freedom to go lay down, take time time out and just reflect and honor our bodies to relax when we need to. We have kids to look after and unless they are old enough to do their own thing, we need to be #Mum . I’m ALL about listening to our bodies and tuning into what we should be doing, not blocking out the subtle hints that tells us to relax. But this is pretty much impossible for me at this point of my life with #triplets who are 3. . So to get through the days without being in pain, without being a sloth and without ripping everyone’s head off for breathing too loud I use these 2 oil blends 😍🤩 . MUST have Oil duo ladies, I can’t even count all the women who now have their life back. So went from constant pain and being bed ridden to now having a normal cycle and life 🌙 . I apply Clary Calm over my belly once a day ✨ . I use Ice Blue all over my lower abdomen as needed when I’m feeling blaaah and in pain. Works wonders! .
