Intense week at @southwest_barbell
, I can proudly say I have progressed to 8x115 deadlifts, when just last month I wasn’t doing a squat properly 🤣 I can’t say enough great things about this gym and owner/coach Eric @plantbased_mtl.
I am seeing and feeling such a difference compared to when we signed up 6 weeks ago. If you need motivation, get a coach. If you hit a plateau, get a coach. If you need proper guidance, get a coach. And coaching doesn’t apply just at the gym, it’s the same in business, in relationships, and in life. Sometimes you just need a good kick in the 🍑 and someone to remind you to stay focused and get back on track 🤗
A simple and scrumptious Breakfast. Meal prepping was never my thing because I always thought that it took too much work. BUT, I was wrong. ⠀
It's super doable to make easy meals and all you have to do is just add a ton of flavors. Let me tell you what this is... ⠀

There is so much sweat in my eyes I'm afraid to remove the towel from my face 😂. 3 hours on turbo and 3 mile run off the bike done. Yeah I know it's a beautiful day out there but I had stuff to fit in today and last night was a late one. And yeah I also know it's the royal 👑 wedding 💒. Thank goodness it’s finally Friday and I can train my glutes for over an hour today! While others teenagers are out partying, or more likely, picking their noses tonight, WE are crushing it in the gym 👊🏽 😎 WHAT ARE YOU TRAINING TODAY/HOPE TO TRAIN THIS WEEKEND!? 👇🏽 I wanna know
Today’s 🍑 workout:
1️⃣ Banded activation:
2️⃣Superset: 2x glute bridges (1 min) + frog pumps (30 sec)
3️⃣Hip thrusts (all banded) HEAVY; as you go up in weight, lower reps slowly (feel free to superset with body weight hip thrusts for an extra burn 🔥)
4️⃣ Walking lunges 3 rounds! Go as heavy as you can without tipping over!! If you’re a beginner with these, start with body weight
5️⃣Superset: bulgarian split squat 3x8 and side step ups 3xAMRAP (slow TUT) w/ pistol squat practice at top for an extra challenge
6️⃣Side laying single leg plate hip abduction 3x10 each leg
7️⃣Superset: 2x glute bridges (1 min) + frog pumps (30 sec)
8️⃣Hip abduction machine 3x10 again, GO HEAVY!

Check out these 3 videos, showcasing how to use the squat for different goals.
Video 1- this was part or what’s called a Giant set. Multiple (4+) exercises focusing on one muscle group. This is an excellent way to burn fat and build muscle.
Video 2- this was part of a full body fat burning circuit for our 7 pm class. This type of circuit was more geared toward fat loss and muscle endurance as the reps were 15+ per exercise
Video 3- our client Steve was building to a 5 rep max. Working on a strength goal and keeping the reps under 6.
The squat is one of the key movements for any training program. Make sure you incorporate it in your lifts (barring any injuries which would require proper modifications)
Love all these shapes and sizes 🤗 I'm the kind of person who keeps inspirational body goal pics on my phone, most people do! But remember to follow and save people with a similar body type to you.
