10 minutes of abs after an intense leg workout today. I love having literally hundreds of workouts available to me and I'm grateful to be able to have found this option.
Mom, police wife (working opposite shifts) , social worker, fitness instructor - I can't get to the gym anymore but that doesn't mean I stop challenging myself! I get just as good of a workout in my basement and out makes me happy 😁

I still find myself doing this sometimes. One of the hardest things about trying to live a healthier life and make a positive change comes from the people around us who aren’t ready to make those changes.

Gah, this one kills me! I CHOOSE to eat healthier food. I CHOOSE to not eat the cake. I CHOOSE to make choices for myself that I know will make me feel good.
No one is telling you that you can’t eat the cake. You’re choosing to make that choice for yourself.
I’m so excited to have the opportunity to get coaching from a RDN (registered dietitian nutritionist) who serves on the board for the American Heart Association.
I’ll be learning how to arm myself with strategies to co-exist with food in real life situations, how to feel full and satisfied without feeling deprived or hungry, satisfy my cravings, and how to handle setbacks before they happen. .
It’s not a diet. It’s a mindset. This is my life and I plan to live it to the fullest. Some days that might include that cake. .

Progress, not perfection.
I wanted to show you all my latest finds at Costco today! Ginny and I are big Costco fans, whether it's food shopping, to visit my mom who works there, or just to watch them make the pizzas.
Something I'm trying to practice with myself is realistic progress. I've been trying so hard to improve my diet, but it's pretty hard to go from eating a ton of carbs and sweets (thanks first trimester) to eating a strict plant-based diet high in fruits and vegetables. What has happened as a result is I often end up not eating at all, and that's not good, especially during pregnancy.
So I took a step tonight and bought some food for next week for myself! Is it perfect? Nope. There's sugar in the yogurt, mayo in the curry chicken salad, the fish is frozen and the bread has buttermilk in. Before these things would have stopped me from buying any of them, and then I wouldn't have anything to eat for lunch next week. For me, this is what progress looks like. It's different for everyone, but as long as you're making small steps in the right direction, and you don't give up, that's all that matters :) all I can say is I'm freaking excited for my lunches, and I know I'm still making progress towards my goals.
I have started this page as motivation for myself - to change! My life is like many others. Busy and chaotic! I am mum of 2 beautiful girls, who also suffers from anxiety, PND and currently glandular fever and CMV. I have decided I need to take action and make myself a priority! I am going to help not only myself but my family, my happiness, my work life balance, my girls, but I also really wanted to also show others that it's manageable without spending a fortune or making seperate dinners etx. I am going to be focused on foods, supplements, exercise, family time and finding the right balance for me. If I make this public - I am hoping it will give me the extra push I need! So welcome to day 1 of my 2018 🌸
🛬 We got home last night, snuggled the chickens 👩👧👦👨👦, got up early to get them all off the school and were pretty much dragging all freaking day. 😴
The last thing I wanted to have to worry about was meal planning for us as we go back to work. Buuuuit having spent all week at an all inclusive, we hit out max of glutinous foods and drinks. 🍹 🍴
Just beacuse it’s the weekend doesn’t mean we need to wait until Monday to start eating healthy, or getting back on track. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 I’m planning to do a quick, three day, plant based cleanse detox this weekend so I am fresh and ready to go come Monday morning for the restart of my 80 day challenge! 🙌🏼 It’s such perfect timing, how could I not?
I do this cleanse about 3-4 times per year beacuse I love it so much! It’s the perfect kickstart, reset button you need sometimes. 🍃🍓🥑🥦🥗🥤 The scale this morning was humorous to us both. 😂 😬#yikes So I’m ready to get back on track TODAY! Stay tuned! 👌🏼

The temps have made a giant leap, and here is Minnesota it officially feels like Spring! In this state, there are constantly major shifts in the weather, and our bodies sure take a toll. To boost the immune system during those shifts, I take a capsule each morning of 2 drops Lemon + 2 drops Thieves! For the kiddos, I make a diluted roller bottle with Thieves, Lemon and Frankincense to rub on their feet each night before bed! SO helpful, and SO easy! 💛
