not feeling so hot today 🤧 might be the change in weather, might be the few too many glasses of wine i had last night, might be all of the above 🤷🏼♀️ so i’ve been dosing myself with all of my top cold fighting remedies like; magnesium, vitamin c, turmeric, a good sweat, nourishing food and my favorite cold fighting beverage 🍋🍊 hot water + fresh ginger + fresh lemon juice + raw local honey + apple cider vinegar - each ingredient serves a different purpose and together they pack a serious punch to any sickness .. .
• ginger: anti inflammatory, kills bacteria settles the stomach and aids in digestion.
• lemon: full of vitamin c, detoxifying and although it’s an acidic fruit it actually alkalizes the body.
• raw honey: soothes a sore throat, full of antioxidants and antibacterial.
• apple cider vinegar: helps digestion, increases metabolism and kills bacteria. #holisticallywholesome
Don’t get it twisted. There’s a difference between motivation and habit. Motivation is a little spark that pushes you to finally make your health a priority, to finally pick up a dumbbell or cook up a healthy dinner vs. picking up fast food. But motivation comes and goes🤷♀️ Forming healthy habits is what gets you results🙌🏻 When it becomes a habit to fill your fridge weekly with clean food, when your workout is non-negotiable or when picking a salad over a plate of fried food is second nature, now that is where the magic happens✨Need a little spark of motivation? cauliflower gnocchi 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 1. I nuke mine in the microwave for like 2 minutes to thaw them out a little. 2. Stick them in a 400* oven for about 20ish minutes then broil them for the nice golden brown look 🤤 my favorite way to cook them that I’ve discovered so far! Happy Saturday 🤗
OMG! I did it! After lots of sciatica pain the last two days, a lot of stretching and foam rolling plus a visit to the chiropractor, this morning I felt so much better. I contemplated giving myself an extra day of rest but I’m stubborn and wanted to give it a try.
I foam rolled and stretched a lot pre workout and going to do the same after.
It was hard. Really, really hard. Plus I had my little guy running around too.
I took it slow, lessened my weights and modified the moves!
I am still tight and have some pain but I feel sooo much better for pushing through.
I will continue with lots of stretches and foam rolling throughout the day to keep things loose.
Pain sucks and I am staying positive that I can get through this setback with my sciatica and continue my plan.
Okay, I admit I’m overly excited for fall and pumpkin everything. Those who are with me-here’s my healthy baked pumpkin donut recipe. Great for breakfast or pre-workout.These taste a bit like a pumpkin bread pudding and I love the texture🤤#fallishere #fitfood #goodcarbs
(Makes 6 donuts)
1 scoop organic plant based vanilla protein powder
1 cup organic oat flour
1 cup organic pumpkin purée
1/4 cup organic unsweetened apple sauce
1 tbsp. melted butter flavored coconut oil
1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 egg whites
💥Preheat oven to 350*F.
Grease donut mold w/ coconut oil.
Combine all ingredients in food processor.
Bake 20-25 min. or until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
Cool completely before removing from molds.
Organic coconut cream
Tsp. pure vanilla extract or powder
1 tbsp. maple syrup
❄️Chill coconut cream in the back of fridge.
Whip with hand mixer.
Add maple syrup & vanilla.
Spread onto cooled donuts.
