Worked out for the first time today since the first time it got cold 😭 to exercise is to exorcise...our e-motions are in motion, they need an outlet or else they can keep you dense in a de-pressed form, or they will force their way out via crying, anger, etc. I hold emotion in my body, + I’ve experienced SO many emotions this past year, I’ve been doing mycellf a disservice by overselling the narrative of rest. Yes, rest is imperative, but not under the guise of laze, “the mind is the body” rhetoric, + inertia. In studying mycellf I’ve discovered in many different forms + from many different messengers how imperative exercise is to my wellbeing...yet I still didn’t do it for 6 months 😂 Inertia is a huge debilitation for me, one that I am feeling resurrected from after some intentional releases this rising. Thank god ya girl got them good genes so imma be rightback to how I wanna be in like 3 weeks 🤣💪🏽🙏🏽

So I held back from posting on here recently, because so many people I know in real life started following this page. I mean yeah, I had it public so what did I expect right? But it’s like everyone found me in a huge wave and I suddenly felt intimidated. Under a spotlight. And anyone who knows me knows I don’t like the spotlight (especially around people I know). HOWEVER, it took me some time, but I realized that I’m proud to share this journey of mine. I used to be over 200 lbs! I’m proud of how far I’ve come. I just hope that anyone that knows me personally and followed this page understands that I’m growing and learning in fitness and I’m not perfect, I don’t have all the answers, but I’m trying. And that I’m doing this the way I WANT TO and for it to benefit ME, not how you think I “should do it”. Day 3 was shoulder day. Definitely struggled.😳 . . . Yesterday was 1 of 3 of our rest days each week.. ya 3 like WTF!? So nice! 👊🏻👊🏻I used it to focus on my goals 💫for the end of this month into next. I enjoyed getting to sleep 🙌🏻 in, aka recover them muscles, a bit and playing with the kiddos I’m watching and get a good stretch in before bed.☯️ Today I woke up ready to crush the workout. I am staying with the munchkins at their casa and didn’t want to haul my weights to their house, so I was excited to get to use the bands that came with the program I’m doing. I was told not to underestimate them... but I did. 😒And by the end of the 3rd rep of each exercise.... I WAS FEELIN THE BURN ☠️ like struggling while pushing through (cause I ain’t stopping for nothin) 🤘🏻 . . . BUT today I truly realized, I’m so thankful 🙏🏻 to be able to take my workout anywhere I am, the old me would have been like, ✋🏻well I’m not home and not in my normal routine soooo I’ll take the rest of the week off.. I’m getting better at lifting my hip off the ground for the entire round and added a top leg lift for a little more burn UNTIL I can completely do a side plank. . . . I get a lot of questions about what some of the beginner workouts that I stream on my Netflix of workouts are and I keep thinking of the saying, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” You can limit yourself to thinking you need a beginner workout OR you can learn how to modify exercises along with the awesome modifiers from each fitness program. . . . Before 80 Day Obsession I looked down upon myself when I modified moves, which was a lot of the time... in a lot of the programs I did. I would get discouraged, want to give up, asked myself why I’m even trying and did not feel like I ever got a good workout in (although I was sweating, shaky and sore). But then with 80 Day, I made a promise to myself, to focus solely on my form and completing each move for the entire duration of the set.... and guess what happened next, I got stronger, was less prone to injuring myself (hubby calls me Grace, and my Tribe at Summit can also tell y’all how true that is) and I was getting better at each difficult exercise each and every day. By week 3 I didn’t have to modify majority of the moves I was modifying in the beginning, my clothes were starting to fall off because my muscles were getting toned, I was loosing major inches and that is when I realized WOW. I am pushing through each exercise, modifying 75% of the moves and I’m seeing the best results I’ve ever seen..... so the next time you think “oh I could never do that” or “I would have to modify that entire workout, I might as well not even try” remember it takes consistency and you can modify every move in order to eventually be like the fitspo girls you stock and dream of being. Had a blast working out this morning with @joelfreemanfitness and my Fit Life Tribe, live on social media! 20 mins and done.... Got back from brunch with my girls and I am already feelin’ achy! . . . Today definitely got me hyped for the launch of the test group July 16th! Going from working out 6 days a week for 1 hour and timed nutrition (which I loved), to now going to working out 4 days a week, having 1 cheat day and ability to have active rest days is EXACTLY what I need for my busy summer schedule!
